Jet Black the Magic ball!!

Pros: Snaps hard to the pocket, Makes dry lanes like oil

Cons:Doesnt make me coffee

Best Uses: Dry lanes

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friendWhen lanes break down on game 3 or game 10 and you cant keep your strike ball from jumping across the head pin. Your adjustments are throwing ball out more, moving in, lofting the ball out, throwing the ball faster. These techniques all compromise your original first game ball motion. This jet black taboo takes care of all that. Throw your original shot you did for game one in the dryest of lane conditions your ball will never fail you its magic!! You get the strongest break of any taboo on the market. Carrydown OIL meet your daddy!!

Slow Your Roll

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

We touched on how to speed up your ball in our last blog post, but what if you need to slow down?

If you’re ball keeps blowing right past the break point then the lane conditions that you are dealing are more oily than what you are used to bowling.  When this is the case you’re going to need to slow your ball speed down in order to hit the break point with the correct timing.  One thing to remember about slowing down your ball is that it will be caring less momentum and it will grip the lane quicker giving you that early break your looking to get.  How much do you need to slow it down though and how to do it are problematic questions for a lot of bowlers

When you are slowing down your ball you want to follow the same rules as are applied to speeding it up.  That means you want to lower the ball on the approach.  You don’t want to decelerate after the peak of your approach that can cause you problems.  You should lower the ball from two to twelve inches depending on the desired speed.  You may also want to try bending at the knees a little bit when your slowing the ball down. Adding Speed To Your Ball

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

Getting the most out of your ability as a bowler brings a lot of factors into the equation one of which is learning to control the speed of your ball properly.  The speed of your ball is a key factor in putting up good scores and doing it consistently.  When the conditions of the lane vary you need to vary your ball speed if you’re planning on winning a lot of games.  Scoping out the alley beforehand in order to determine whether or not it is oily or not is essential.  Over the course of a tournament, the lane could slowly dry out, at which point you would want to pick up the speed of your ball and here’s how to do it correctly. Your First Bowling Ball – Choices, Choices Ouch!

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

The inspiration for today’s blog is on of our twitter followers Dustin Roberts. He asked “What kind of ball would you recommend for a new bowler starting out?” We understand that when you get serious about bowling the products and options can be overwhelming. Each ball company puts outs many new balls a year and a new bowler has got to find that confusing. Are they improving on something that didn’t work or can I go with an older ball that seems to look like its going to do what I need? So, here are some tips for ball selection in general.

The White Elephant

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

From the very beginning, bowling and food have been enduring links. There’s something about eating a juicy, American hotdog in the clatter and rumble of the lanes as the pins come tumbling down. Bowling isn’t the same without your essential French fries, dog, and a beer. So, it should come as no surprise that modern bowling was born in a restaurant. Our 10-pin bowling is in fact the brainchild of Joe Thum, a restaurateur who many named the father of bowling. Thum created America’s first bowling association, The American Bowling Congress, on Sept. 9, 1895, in order to share his love of this now incredibly popular family sport.

Crafty Old Bowling Balls!

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

This Christmas your family is going to get a real treat. New bowling balls! Personalized in every way. Weight, style, drilled for each individual and your hobby will take on a new excitement. Now, what do you do with the old bowling balls that just cannot be thrown any more? They are cracked and almost don’t even make it down the lane. What do you do? Do not throw it away!

For the crafty bowlers amongst us, there are tons of cute and clever ideas for “recycling” old balls into garden decorations, sculptures and even furniture!
One of the easiest ways to resurrect your old bowling ball is to simply give it a nice coat of some bright, water-repellent paint. It doesn’t take any extra artistic skill to paint on some oversize eyes and facial features, and voila, you have your very own Bowling Ball garden gnome! Just stick it in your yard or in a flower planter and be prepared for the amused chuckles of your admiring neighbors. (more…)

Bowling Mecca… Kentucky?

Monday, November 14th, 2011

As you watch your ball hit the pins for a strike do you ever contemplate where the pins and the other equipment are made? The answer for 50 per cent of bowling balls and 150,000 pins a year is the beautiful town of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Ebonite International has made its home right there in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. It is the Mecca of the bowling world. They are a major “umbrella” corporation. Similar to other umbrellas, like Ford Motor Company or The Gap, Ebonite International owns many different brands that you will recognize and maybe would have thought were even each other’s competition. These brands like, Hammer Bowling, Columbia 300, Track, Dyno-Thane, Power House and Robby’s,
