Bowling Ball Videos Bowling Balls Brunswick

Pearl or Solid, What’s your Pleasure?

Brunswick introduces their precious Pearl. Just like a pearl, it has gone though an aggressive fine tuning. They start with a core that is unique to every ball and yet you can still use standard drilling techniques. And we can talk all about the how it maintains a great continuation even up to the back end and obliterates the pins, but what you really want to see are the testimonials. Will this ball do what the product description claims? Will using it help you win your league? Even though one of your team members really is getting on your nerves because of their “whatever” attitude? You have to make up the points somehow. Want to really know if the Pearl or the Solid is for you?
Take a look at this video, yes it is promotional and put together by Brunswick, but the candid shots are compelling. The people they interview know what they are talking about and could be at any of our alleys. Then once you are convinced, visit us at http://www.bowling.com/products/brunswick-nexus—p-f–solid.htm to shop for your Nexus Solid or, http://www.bowling.com/products/brunswick-nexus—p–pearl.htm for that beautiful Pearl. Happy shopping and then happier bowling!

Bowling Mecca… Kentucky?

As you watch your ball hit the pins for a strike do you ever contemplate where the pins and the other equipment are made? The answer for 50 per cent of bowling balls and 150,000 pins a year is the beautiful town of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Ebonite International has made its home right there in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. It is the Mecca of the bowling world. They are a major “umbrella” corporation. Similar to other umbrellas, like Ford Motor Company or The Gap, Ebonite International owns many different brands that you will recognize and maybe would have thought were even each other’s competition. These brands like, Hammer Bowling, Columbia 300, Track, Dyno-Thane, Power House and Robby’s,

Special Note

A Note on Veterans’ Day

Veterans’ Day is a beautiful day of remembrance. One set aside for us to contemplate our freedoms and the sacrifice it takes to preserve them. We ponder the magnitude of the conflicts and tremendous loss of life. We mourn those who did not get to live a full life and wonder what dreams they would have fulfilled. Our hearts are full for those we knew and loved who put themselves in harm’s way for us.

These feelings of gratitude are so important to preserve. We needed to pause and take note.  Hopefully Friday’s events will once again center our thoughts and focus us towards those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Have a wonderful weekend! And a special thanks to our Vets!

Lucky Strike?

Knocking down ten pins with the first ball in your frame is hard but certainly not impossible for beginners. A strike is such a thrill. And once you’ve had this thrill you’ll want more and more X’s on your score sheet. But how are you going to get a strike, not only once, but always?
There are steps to a consistent strike and then they become part of the rhythm of your game. Let’s go over some of the mechanics.

bowling shoes

Fashionista in the Alley

You are a fashionista in every other aspect of your life and  let’s face it, ladies: rental bowling shoes are just plain ugly.  You would never put them on your feet regularly, if not forced to do so.  Not to mention they are uncomfortable and really smelly. If you are a half size, I feel for you. There is no chance your bowling experience will be comfortable on your feet.  So if you bowl more than once or twice a year, put an end to rental shoe misery and invest in your own pair already!

The good news is, there more options than ever before for girls who want to bowl in style and comfort. At long last, bowling shoe makers have ditched the dated unisex model, and have started making shoes specifically adapted to a lady’s smaller, narrower foot.  These shoes are padded for extra comfort and come in a variety of styles and colors, from girlish pink to eye-catching metallic gold!

Top brands include Dexter, Brunswick, Etonic and Elite, just to name a few. If this is your first time buying a pair of bowling shoes, you should really visit a shoe store in person to try on a variety of different models so you can see which one fits your foot best. Ask the ladies at your alley what they perfer. Don’t be afraid to say “Cute shoes, where’d you get them?”
