Buy Your Own Alley

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

In the Ferrysburg, Michigan at their bowling alley and restaurant you will soon be able to buy anything that catches your eye, even the alleys themselves will be up for grabs.

In 1979 the place was opened for busines and held it’s own until it was foreclosed on in 2010.  Now because of the foreclosure all of the items that remain in the bowling alley whether they be shoes, bowling equipment, items from the bar and kitchen or anything else inside the alley it will be going to auction.

The auction itself will take place Tuesday.  It will be held online via Orbitbid.com.

“We’re selling the 24 lanes, the ball returns, the pin setters, the pins – everything,” said Steve Morse, of Orbitbid.com. “99 percent of the time we sell everything.”

If you think that you might be interested in anything that the alley has to offer you can pre-bid on items.  If you choose not to pre-bid the auction will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and items will come to a close between 6-8 p.m.

The alleys are made of wood not synthetic and Morse said, “bidders make furniture out of them a lot of times, countertops and tables.”

The beer mirrors, like the one below, that the alley houses have already been drawing some interest Morse has said.

There is one thing that needs to be kept in mind if you are planning on bidding on any of the items in the auction on Tuesday and that is you have to remove the items within three days of the purchase yourself.

“So if you’re buying a pair of lanes for grandpa’s barn, you’ve got to be ready to come in here and take them out almost immediately because it’s going to take some time and some effort,” Morse said. “They have to bring their own tools and their own people to lift stuff.”

So if you’ve got the time and you’re close enough to Ferrysburg, Michigan to take some of this alley home with you, It’s definitely worth your time.  Again the auction will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. so if you’re looking to build your own alleys from pieces of an old alley you might be in luck.

Are you like everyone else?

Hardly. Every one of us is a different person. We have different strengths, arm lengths, hand densities. Our pitch is different, and we each throw at different angles. Why should we bowl like anyone else?

As a bowler, you are unique. You have your own style and poise, your particular footing, angle of toss and cohesive leverage. Plus, your arm length and finger disparities are all your own, uniquely compiled to give you the physical bowling style that just right for you.

Each Bowling Ball Has a Unique Personality

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

You don’t have anyone else’s hands. Why would you use someone else’s ball?

Every bowling ball has its own personality. The difference that makes each unique is in its core. A ball’s core is dynamically imbalanced to give a ball a certain pitch as it rolls down the lane. Therefore, the way a ball flares as it rolls down the lane is unlike any other ball.

Turn Heads with a Clear Bowling Ball

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

It’s easy to see why clear bowling balls are so memorizing.

Shining like crystal globes, they seem magical as soon as they’re brought out of the bag. Many bowlers prefer a ball with something shiny inside to turn even more heads. Imagine a glowing skull or brilliant red rose shining down the lane as it knocks down all ten pins. Bowling balls can be luminous oranges or lucky slot machines or amusing pigs. You’ll stand out on the lane for more than just your game.

Bowling Ball Videos & Video Bowling Ball Reviews

Friday, September 10th, 2010

If you’re anything like me I’ve got to see something to understand it. I’m a visual learner. In high school, I didn’t want a teacher to talk about an advanced math concept. I wanted it written out in front of me and then “BING” the light would go on in my head. I’ve always been that way.

Storm Anarchy : The Latest High-Performance Ball from Storm

The All New Anarchy from Storm

The All New Anarchy from Storm

The latest and greatest high-performance item from Storm has just been released, the brand new Storm Anarchy bowling ball. As always the research, dedication and innovation from Storm have shown through on this ball release. The Invasion was a ball designed to work well on the absolute heaviest oil. But oil is quickly consumed on the lanes. So the idea behind the Anarchy is to create a high-end strong asymmetrical that is clean through the heads and turns over sharp at the break point. And it aims to do this for bowlers like you and me who may not necessarily have all the revs of the PBA tour pros. Maximum surface texture on this ball increases ball motion. And the ball has a polished finish that will give you a glide through the heads and the strong backend motion I bet you love as much as I do!
