TROPICAL EXTRAVAGANZA - IN THE SMELL By Tom "The Bowling Ball Tester" from Fort Wayne, Indiana
Reviewed on: 8/18/2011
Verified Reviewer Pros:Nice Smell, Flawless Surface, GREAT BACK UP BALL, Great Weight, Comfortable Grip, Attractive Design Cons:SLOW SWEEPING HOOK, TENDENCY TO RUN, Flaws In Surface, TROUBLE IN FRONT END Best Uses:Tournaments, Light to medium oil, SEMI GLOSSY LANES, Upgrade, Local Bowling Alley Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend If your looking for an up grade to increase your average, a more comfortable feel in the hand, or just want a good spare or back up ball, this one will do it. I test a lot of balls for different companies. NO I DO NOT GET PAID TO DO IT OR GET ANY COMPENSATION. I test balls for the market volunteerily. I hold no punches back, I tell it like it is. This ball as all its brothers has a nice tropical smell to it as does the other balls . Each ball has a different smell and it takes getting use to, but sure keeps that musty dry smell out of your bag. This ball like its fore runners and its past runners are getting better everytime. This ball has a nice even weight to it. Storm changed their weight in the ball(at lest to me) in a much better position than their original lines. Past few years Storm has really been cornering the market. This ball has a reactionary smash when it connects with the pins. Although, sometimes when released or trying to force the ball, it will leave splits everytime. With this ball it needs that gentle TLC keep it clean and oiled and it is a "KEEPER". If your looking for high performance in this ball, it can be done, but lacks the follow through of a high performance ball. Originally this ball was for the open bowler or beginner, but now Storm has reset the weights and smothed out the ball , to give it a little more gripping and skipping ball. The ball has a pit here and their, but has no affect ! This ball as well as its previous brothers have come a long way in design and style, Much more comfortable to the hand and it will rock for you if given a chance. This ball will definately raise your average, but will take some getting use to the flip and spin of it. She has a nice sweeping hook if appropriately thrown. A smooth ball and cheap for the price. Great as a back up ball or used in a tournament when conditions are warrented for it.Does terrible in heavy oil. For the price you can't go wrong... Was this review helpful to you?
