Ceremonial First Roll with Sean RashIt's been a few months since eight-year-old Dan McCarty rolled out the ceremonial first ball with Sean Rash at the PBA World Championship Johnny Petraglia Division Finals in Las Vegas, but it's a story worth retelling.  Prior to the WSOB kick-off, Brunswick hosted a photo shoot for all Brunswick players. Brunswick was approached by the Best Buddies program and asked if kids from the program could attend.  Brunswick agreed without hesitation. During the photo shoot, Dan McCarty and Sean Rash really connected with one another.

Dan lives with a disease called osteogenisis imperfecta or as it's more commonly known brittle bone disease.  He has his challenges, but despite his challenges he remains a vibrant charismatic little boy.  This charisma and positive attitude have helped Dan become an advocate for other children and individuals who live with intellectual or developmental impairments.  He has become a vital part of the Las Vegas chapter of Best Buddies to help educate the community about the importance of helping those with disabilities.

Dan is a big fan of bowling so Brunswick and Best Buddies wanted to have an event that highlighted Dan McCarty.  Enter Sean Rash and the rolling of the ceremonial first ball.  It was a great experience for everyone involved.  "For me, meeting Dan and his family made my play at the World Series of Bowling even more special," said Rash.  "It was very emotional to do the ceremonial roll with Dan to kick off the tournament.  Throughout play, I felt his passion as he cheered for me.  He was a great fan to have in the crowd and his continued support motivated me to play my best."

With Dan cheering him on Sean went on to win the match and earned a spot in the PBA World Championship Final.
