Track 503A https://youtu.be/wt7hFRFuJYI Manufacturer’s Intent:

When we designed the 503A, we were looking for something that would complement our other offerings in the 500 series. The 508A, which was released last spring, offered the reaction people expect from our “A” series with a touch stronger read of the mid-lane. With the 503A, we wanted to go with the traditional skid/flip type of reaction.

Core:

When choosing the core design to go into this new 500 series release, it only made sense to continue using our Packman Core which has been so succesful in both our 503C and 503T. We hadn’t used this core with a skid/flip type of coverstock yet, so anticipation was high by everyone involved in the process.

Cover:

The 503A marks the first time we have used our new Gen MA (Moderate Angle) cover. This cover creates less friction in the oil compared to our Gen XA (Xtra Angle) cover, found on our 706A. By offering a cleaner reaction through the front part of the lane, the 503A is able to maintain its angular back end reaction on lighter oil patterns.

Finish:

The final step that completes the ball development process is the finish. Having the right finish allows for the perfect combination of core and cover to shine for a wide variety of bowling styles. For the 503A, we went with 800/1000/2000 Abralon® which was then polished with our Powerhouse Factory Finish. This finish process allows for easy length on medium to light oil patterns and allows for plenty of movement at the back end of the lane.

Overall:

The 503A will quickly become the ball of choice for bowlers of all styles looking for a strong angular motion at the back end of the lane on medium to light oil patterns. This will be attributed to the combination of our Packman Core and Gen MA cover. This one has both the performance and the looks!

Where Does The Track 503A Excel:

The Track 503A will be a great fit in between the 300A and the 706A. The motion will be relatively the same, but the difference will be overall hook. Listed from strongest to weakest, 706A, 503A, 300A. If the motion down lane looks right with the A series then it can be simple adjustments to how strong or weak you may want to go. Look for the Track 503A to be that go to ball in medium conditions.
