Great Ball from the past

The AMF Night Hawk SE is by far a great benchmark ball for Medium to low rev players. It is also great for High rev players on Medium to Light lane conditions. It has a smooth roll from release to impact, no need for making large adjustments the Hybrid cover and core match up to keep you in your comfort zone. Try one, it worked years ago and it works now.

It's back and it's a beast!

AMF Nighthawk SE
#15
2.75" pin
3.2oz top

Rt. hand
14-15 mph
PAP 4 9/16

Drilling: ANGLE: 60° Pin to PAP 5" Val Angle: 70° Pin down
Volume 38-41ft
THS, Kegel Challenge Series

The NightHawk is back with a twist! LOVE the new hybrid shell, drilled this one looking for midlane and backend - got it all! Ball has a nice midlane roll and a super aggressive arc/flip for the backend. For me with a slower ball speed (14-15mph) this ball has a ton of hook in it. What's extremely nice is the predictability off the spot. Easy to read. Opens up the lane for me on THS and comes back from just about anywhere! This is a medium to medium/heavy oil ball that carries well especially light pocket hits. This thing is a beast when it encounters dry! Will be my go-to ball for THS. A must have for tournaments, league, Nationals and us guys and gals who remember how good they bowled with the original NightHawk. Great comeback choice for AMF!

Nighthawk SE

Wow! Talk about a blast from the past. The new AMF Nighthawk SE is no joke. This ball is an absolute monster for someone looking for a ball for a THS or a little later in the block. It is nice and smooth and hits the hole like a bulldozer. It has been a pleasant surprise that I can carry light mixers in addition to the high flush shots.

For my Nighthawk I went with the layout 60x4x40. This layout is a personal favorite of mine and matches up perfectly with the ball. It creates a nice smooth motion that doesn't stop once it starts.

Bringing back the classics!

Smooth and controllable is what this Nighthawk SE is! A great combination of core to coverstock that will give you a great reaction on any dry to medium condition. Only the oiliest of patterns will keep this ball in your bag. And because the ball is so controllable it will be good on most sport patterns. This is a benchmark ball for me and I will be taking two of them to USBC Open Championships next spring. AMF has done a great job on bringing back this classic ball! I drilled this one with a 5 1/2 inch pin.

Bringin' Back the Great One!

IN AN AGE OF "BRINGING BACK THE OLDIES", THE ONLY BALL FROM THE MID/LATE 90'S THAT STARTED A LINE OF DOMINANCE HAD TO BE THE ORIGINAL AMF NIGHTHAWK. HERE IT IS! THE NIGHTHAWK SPECIAL EDITION IS HITTING PRO SHOPS ON 11/14/14! BEING A PROUD OWNER OF THE ORIGINAL, THE TORQUE, AND THE REVENGE, I WAS PRETTY EXCITED TO HEAR THAT A NEW VERSION WAS ON THE HORIZON. COVERED IN AN T-PAD (4000) SURFACE, F55 HYBRID SHELL, AND THE POWER RING SYMMETRIC CORE, OLD FAITHFUL HAS BEEN JUICED UP TO CONQUER ALL OF TODAY'S CONDITIONS. DRILLED MINE FOR A NICE SMOOTH ROLL, AND IT DELIVERS. WHEN THE LANES GET A LITTLE OVER/UNDER, THIS IS MY GO TO BALL. IT CLEARLY THROWS PINS AROUND ON LIGHT HITS. WORKING ON THROWING UP BIG NUMBERS USING THE ORIGINAL ON ONE LANE, AND THE SPECIAL EDITION ON THE OTHER. CHECK OUT MY VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE, USERNAME "CONVENTIONALSPINNER"...

Get this ball

This is a very versatile ball, gets through the mids clean and so predictable down lane. Stores energy to carry the corners. I have used it on a house shot and on Kegel pattern "The Beaten Path." I shot 759 on the house shot and 720 on the Kegel pattern, both with minimal adjustments.

The Night Hawk is Back!

If you're looking for a ball to fill out your arsenal or for the THP or sport condition look no further. The AMF 300 Night Hawk SE is the ball you need, this is one of the most predictable and smooth balls to come along in awhile. I used a 5" X 4" X 3" layout on the Night Hawk SE and I was amazed at how controllable it was off the break point and how it kept the pins low, which increased pin action. The Symmetric weight block and the F55 Hybrid coverstock are a great combo. I used the Night Hawk SE on a few medium sport patterns and had to scuff the surface a little but the ball shape was still smooth and predictable. On house patterns I left the box finish and the Night Hawk SE performed just as smooth and predictable as the sport pattern. This is a must ball for everybody.

Nighthawk SE awesome

Drilled 5x3 no extra hole. Clean in the heads with a nice strong but not flippy move on the back. With the box surface, straight players stick to medium to dry lanes with your favorite layout. Higher rev players can use the Nighthawk on most lane conditions with slight surface adjustments.

Night Hawk SE Review by Jimmy Casteel

Drilling: Pin Down
Surface: OOB 4000
Lane condition: 41ft THS
Description: This ball was one of the favorites back in the day, and I'm super excited AMF 300 brought this ball back. This ball does not disappoint at all. The Nighthawk SE picks up nice and early and has a very controllable backend motion. It is best used on fresh medium oil conditions. It allows you to play further right, but still picks up early enough that you don't have to worry about leaving flat corners, which is a problem that I have with a lot of the "dry lane" balls. Controllable is the best word for this ball. It doesn't' t make a huge move off the spot, but it hits the pins hard, and keeps them low which is a big deal to me. This can also be used as a great benchmark ball.

AMF Night Hawk SE

Pin Length: 3"-3.5"
Starting Top Weight: 2.94oz
Ball Weight: 15.1

Dual Angle Layout: 60* x 5" 45*
No X-Hole

Ball Speed: 15.5 - 16
PAP: 4" (right), 3/8" (up)

Grit: OOB ("T" Pad)
Length: 39'-42'
Volume: Medium
Type: THS

The Nighthawk is back. Now with a modified Favorite core! For this ball I chose a layout that has been an all around good performer for me: 60*x5"x45*. I have used this layout with success on the Favorite, King Cobra, and Darkness to name a few. Clean through the heads and a smooth, controllable backend ball motion. This ball is smoother than a Favorite and King Cobra by far. I was forced to play up the boards and as the lanes transitioned, I could continue to play this part of the lane without the ball checking up or over-reacting. The back-end move is smoother than expected. As far as cover changes go, I have only
used this ball at the OOB finish which is a "T" pad and not experimented with any lower grit surfaces. I feel this ball needs a little friction up front or a little more surface to be able to use it on anything more than a THS. I wouldn't hesitate to snag another one and drill with a more aggressive layout. This ball is a great step down from an All Day and a step above a Boost Pearl. Again, another ball that will be very drill friendly and suit all bowling styles. For those bowlers who want an even arching reaction without the over-reaction, this is your ball.

The NightHawk returns gracefully!

3" pin
55x4.5x40 dual angle layout
weight hole above PAP
surface: out-of-box (NEAT T-pad)
lane conditions: THS
volume: medium
length: 39-42

This layout provides an even-but-long read midlane and an ultra smooth arc on the backend. Don't let the calm midlane read of this ball fool you; it still crushes the pocket. To date, the smoothest ball I have ever thrown.
