Get Your Edge On The Competition

Layout: Full Roller, length and backend; Specs: 18 mph, 500 RPM; Lefty Two-Hander.
If you're looking for a ball that delivers exceptional performance and a low price point, the Edge series is for you. The Edge Solid was much more than I anticipated out of box, clean through the fronts, smooth read in the mids, and a strong continuous backend reaction. This piece will be a benchmark type reaction on both sport and house conditions for a variety of styles, and it has been very versatile on the two patterns I've tested it on so far. I compared the Edge Solid to a Forest Green Quantum with similar layouts, what I saw is that the Edge Solid is about a foot longer downlane and smoother in the mids than the Green Quantum, which allowed me to stay in a similar part of the lane longer. The Edge Solid was great on a house shot because it doesn't overreact off of the dry and maintains energy very well through the pins which is sometimes an issue with solid bowling balls. Very versatile ball for a variety of styles!

The Edge is hee and it is a beauty

Bowler stats
Pap: 4 1/8x 1/2 up
Rev Rate: 440
Speed: 16.5 mph off hand
Axis Tilt: 10 deg

Edge Pearl (75x3 3/4x30)
Edge Solid (75x3 3/4x30)

THS( Typical House Shot) 42ft 27.7 mil oil.

The pearl Edge gives me 5 ft more length with a more angular but controllable transition. This thing really impressed me and works great up the boards or swinging lane when they start to transition and gives me more area for miss down lane.

Solid Edge gave me a lot of mid lane with pronounced back end reaction that worked great for me when I start to see carry down. I was able to get it right early and read the lane perfectly and threw the 6 pin off the wall into the 10pin. I had a really high carry percentage when I played tight line and came in high. I also had great carry with light Pocket hits.

What I see with both of these is that if one is to early I can switch right to the other and not miss a beat on reaction or where I need to be. Brunswick Bowling has really out done theirselves with these releases. The colors are solid in color, which I love to see it makes it easier to read going down the lanes. If you loved the Melee Jab than you will love this piece as well. The pearl is cleaner than the Jab, and the Solid is more mid lane with great pop on the back. The Solid is great for me and works well as a step up from my Forrest Quantum.

Great solid symetrical. Benchmark ball

Drilled Pin below ring cg about 45 degrees. This ball let me play inside the track and I can migrate left as they break down. This ball is like a Melee Jab on steroids, it has earlier mid lane read with the drive and continuation to crush the pins and leave nothing standing in its way.

great ball

This is a perfect benchmark 1st ball out your bag type of ball. Its extremely controllable and has a nice smooth arching motion. I feel this ball is best used when you want to keep your angles closed and go up the lane. I drilled mine with a stable pin under my bridge layout for extra control and predictability. Great addition to the Brunswick symmetrical line with huge bang for your buck price point!

High End Performance for Lower mid level Price

The edge solid is the first ball out of my bag on pretty much everything. I drilled this ball 65x4.5x55 and very quickly learned that the Edge Solid was my new benchmark ball. It replaces the vintage danger zone as the first ball out of my bag. It's about a foot and a half earlier on the lane and not as flippy on the backend compared to the danger zone. The Edge line of balls are the balls to drill if you want a lot of performance for not a lot of money. The edge solid and pearl are easily the best value balls out right now . Get one for yourself and you'll say the same thing

Great Ball compliment to the Green Quantum

60x5-1/2x40
This ball performs very similar to the green Quantum but gives you about 2 boards more with a little more pop into the Pocket.

The most versatile ball in my bag!

The Edge Dark Purple Solid combines our Relativity Control Solid coverstock with our proven Edge low RG symmetric core providing mid-lane control and consistency. It delivers mid-lane control with a smooth and continuous backend motion on medium oil lane conditions. This ball is truly something special because of its predictability and smooth motion on the back ends of typical house shots and sport conditions. I tested this ball on the 2016 USBC Nationals Team pattern and this ball was MONEY. I typically like to use this ball when conditions are wet/dry because it can blend out the pattern and also when patterns breakdown so I can see a smooth continuous motion through the breakpoint instead a skid snap with a pearl. This ball also allows me to play several parts of the lane and can actually handle a nice volume of oil. For the price point of this ball you honestly can't go wrong because you are getting a lot of bang for the buck. This ball has also been HIGHLY recommended for this years USBC Nationals so if you're for one piece to add to your arsenal this is it.

COMMENTS

Likes: Versatility and Predictability

Dislikes: none

The Edge Solid is a alot of ball at a great price. It handles oil well with the dull box finish and is very versatile. It provides a variety of reaction shapes with hand position changes and is playable on most medium patterns. The Edge Solid also works on some wetter lane patterns. It is a fantastic value at the price point and rivals equipment that is 50 dollars higher. I find this ball to be about 5 boards stronger and 3 feet earlier than a similarly drilled Edge Pearl. The Edge Solid is also a foot earlier and several boards stronger than my Danger Zone. I can play almost any angle with this one. If your looking for great longevity, versatility, and all around performance take a serious look at the Edge Solid.
