Question:

I throw a straight ball is this ball ok for that?

8/27/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball is an entry performance ball so it will have a small amount of hook potential. If you throw this straight it will go pretty straight but you may could get a straight ball for a little less money if you have no interest in hooking the ball.

Question:

I'm struggling with my current balls constantly hooking to much with this skid long as and still make it back to the pocket

9/6/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If the ball you currently use is a stronger performance than this ball then this could work. If you have a mid performance ball or higher then you could try this ball to handle lighter to drier lane conditions.

Question:

Im looking for a 9 pound ball with hook potential....not a 10 poiund would this ball be the best option

9/15/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This is going to be the best and one of the only options for a performance coverstock in 9lbs. Almost every other 9lb ball has a plastic or urethane type cover and are more designed for spares. This gives you some hook potential strictly from the coverstock. You can also adjust the surface of this ball to give you more hook if you needed to dull it down some.

Question:

I dont throw the ball fast around 13mph and a down and in shot so would this be good for me?

10/10/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be good to go down the lanes with good length before hooking so it works well with a slower ball speed. Also this is good for lighter oil so if you are bowling in light oil this would work well for you.

Question:

If i want my ball to weigh a little over 10 pounds, what weight of a ball should i get before the holes are drilled?

11/18/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

When a ball gets drilled they usually take 2-3 ounces out when drilling the finger holes. So you would want to request for the ball to be about 2-3 ounces more than the final weight you wanted. To make this request to you click to enter this in the specs box.

Question:

how to measure hand size for drilling

12/31/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

For the $14.95 drilling option we have a size chart available if you click the "?" out beside this option. The span is the distance from the finger hole to the thumb and the hole size would be the width of your finger.

Question:

I own the original Urethane Messenger and used to have the Green Solid color one as well. I m looking for something that is just a bit stronger than the Urethane how would this compare to the original Green Solid? I have been leaving alot of 10 pins with the Black Urethane...

2/25/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The reactive cover will be stronger than the urethane cover but I cannot remember the finish of the older urethane messengers. If the urethane has a really dull finish then you may have it grip earlier than the new reactive Messenger and it cover about the same number of boards over all. But if you were to adjust the cover on the reactive messenger down to a duller finish like the urethane then you would get a stronger ball in the reactive Messenger.

Question:

I am currently throwing a 10 pound ball. Twist brand. Doesn’t hook at all. I need to go down to 9 pounds. This ball came recommended to me. Will I get pin action and does it hook at all?

9/10/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball would have about the same hook potential as the Brunswick Twist unfortunately. However, if you are going to a 9lb weight, the Twist and the Messenger are the only performance balls offered in that weight. You could try to dull the twist down to give it a duller finish and that would help it to give you more hook potential. You could do the same to the Messenger if you did get a new ball in 9lbs.
