The Columbia Sideswipe is part of their Yellow Line collection. This ball takes the Sideswipe core and combines it with their proven Bend-It Pearl coverstock to create an affordable performance ball that will provide good length and a strong and consistent backend reaction on medium oil lanes.
The sideswipe is exactly was is reads. It sideswipes the pins and the competition. the sideswipe is great on medium oil patterns, it has a clean front end motion with lots of backend curve and continuation that's very predictable. This ball makes moves much easier. Sideswipe still contains the bend-it pearl coverstock which has been a monster.
The Side Swipe has been a very good ball for me personally. What this ball allows me to do is stay straighter longer on most house patterns. For me, being able to stay on top of the dry longer allows me more margin for error to still get the pocket and strike. By not having to move left so fast, the longer I can stay away from the "wet/dry."While the ball is encased is the proven bend it pearl cover, the core still allows the ball to retain a lot of energy and not over reacting when it hits the dry. It creates more of a controllable motion down the lane. Alll in all, I'm really fond of this ball on almost every house shot because of the predictable motion, and it's ability to allow me to stay on top of the dry longer! If you're looking for a ball that will always keep you in play, then this is for you! #TeamC300 #EBITakeover
I was a surprised how this ball started up in the oil even shiny. For me it is better shiny on a flatter pattern and just a little surface on THS
I have used Side Swipe in tournaments and the ball literally goes sideways. I have watched my teammates and friends use that ball and it looks amazing for higher rev bowlers.
