The Columbia Swerve FX takes the technology created for the original Swerve to the next level. This pearl version of the ball produces a strong backend motion at the backend which creates awesome pin action. Due to the low mass bias this ball can be drilled many different ways and still perform well. The core shape allows a powerful mid-lane reaction that is not common for symmetrical shape cores, but it does offer the consistency of a symmetric ball. Just like the original the Swerve FX has HyperSHOCK Technology added to the outer core to offer boosted energy that causes the ball to move through the pins like you wouldn't believe. This new cover and core is amazing, this ball his and carries better than anything else on my bag. Have to watch my ball speed in order to carry as it his so hard I'll leave some ringing tens.
Tired of not carrying? Wanting that little extra motion in the back?? Well your in luck, the swerve FX is the ball to put in your bag. With the all new HYPERSHOCK technology this ball is a monster. The all new HYPERSHOCK technology is and enhanced material added for the ball to power through the pins and keep a strong continuous motion.
I used a layout of 70x4.25x30 which allows me start straighter and venture into the middle part of the lane but not lose the reaction down lane, I find this ball very smooth and continuous.

The Swerve FX is the newest line with Hypershock Technology. For me with box finish on heavy lane conditions was a little too much over/under. On medium conditions it read the lanes a lot better and carried well. I changed the cover to 3000 Abralon which definitely helped this ball pick up an earlier roll to combat the over/under for oily lanes. I still had to play the lanes straighter but it took a lot of the over/under off the plate. If you loved the original Swerve you will want to pick up the Swerve FX to combat the lanes when the Serve starts to check up early and you lose carry.

The Swerve FX is absolutely out of this world if you ask me. It's one of the most versatile balls that I have ever thrown. If you can find a ball that allows you to play straight while also letting you open up the lane with some body and hand adjustments, then I'm pretty sure you have hit a homerun. That is exactly what this ball has done for me and it continues to impress me more and more!
With the all new HYPERSHOCK technology in the outer core, it allows the energy transfer into the pins, and keeps the pins low. When the pins are kept low, the higher percentage your carry is going to be. Even when I miss it at the bottom or know the entry angle isn't going to be perfect, it still seems to carry all 10 pins more times than not!
This ball is also made with the all new reflex pearl cover which really creates the ball to be very clean through the mids and a strong motion on the back part of the lane. The change of direction of the ball when it hits the dry is crazy and really fun to watch.
If you're looking for a very versatile ball that can also really allow you to open up your angles, then this ball for sure is something you want in your Arsenal!
First let me say that I took my time in writing this review because I did not want to be over critical as I was with the Swerve, Now, some 4 weeks later I can fully attest to the capability and versatility of this ball. Next to the original Delirium, the Swerve FX is a ball you'll definitely want in your arsenal. Since being punched, I have increased my average in my toughest center by 7 pins, have won a Sport tournament and finished very respectively in another.
As I mentioned, I have found the FX to be a capable and versatile piece. Capable in that the combination of the HyperShock Technology with the energy enhanced material permits the FX to truly motivate itself through a rack of pins. In my opinion there is an actual sound difference when I strike with the FX versus other balls.
Secondly, I mentioned its versatility. As the Swerve FX does have a symmetrical core, it's the lower MB (0.007) that makes it possible for various layouts based on your specific need or talents. I have found that whether I roll it up or need to deliver it with tilt, the ball maintains its integrity and delivers the striking you've come to expect from Columbia 300 equipment.
It's my belief that the Swerve FX is certainly a ball one would want to have in their bag when lane conditions are an uncertainty.

I have had this ball for two weeks now. took me awhile to get used to it and what it's capabilities are, but the second week I bowled a 223 game with it in one league and in another league I bowled a 245 game and 630 series. Both are highs for the year for me.
