The Buck Leather would be a great step up from the universal soled shoes. This one will have the fixed S8 slide sole and H5 Standard heel on the bottom of the left shoe and a traction push off sole on the bottom of the right shoe for a more sturdy approach. The EVA midsole provides great stability and support and the leather provides a whole other leather of outside comfort.
I tried out my new shoes tonight in our league. I loved them!!! They are soft to start off with and I didn't have to break them in. I did have to order them 1/2 size larger but that's okay. The insole is wonderful since I have to have a shoe with a good arch support and they have it. I would think any one that orders them will be very pleased!!!!!
I was a little skeptical about ordering shoes online, but these fit perfectly and are so comfortable. The price was really good too. Thanks, Bowling.com.
Use three to four times a week, very comfortable.
I need to know how to clean them, I have had my shoes for about 10 years. If anyone knows what to use to clean them please let me know.
These are great shoes! One thing I had to get used to was the non-slide foot (for me, my right) being a bit sticky - it has a traction sole and not a universal one like the less expensive shoes sometimes do. So that was a change for me since I was used to sliding both feet. Also, they are sized so that you have to buy a half-size larger to get a good fit. But once you get the right size, they are amazingly comfortable. I paid for the Tru-Fit guarantee, and had to send my first pair back - that was a painless process and my second pair got to me almost immediately. So great customer service as well!
I wanted a good pair of leather shoes. Unfortunately "buck" leather turns out to be white suede. I got a mark on it just trying it on at home. These shoes will look dirty after one wearing. If they were actual leather they would be great shoes.
I have a pair of Dexter that I have been wearing for over 10 years that are soft leather and very comfortable. But need replacing.
These shoes for being buck leather are not soft or comfortable. I put them on and threw on practice ball with them, and took the back off. Of course I didn't purchase the true fit so now I am stuck with them.
Been using this shoe for 2 yrs. worth the money. Seem stiff at first but after a few uses they are fine just like any shoe you buy. They will get smudges but easy to clean. I use alcohol and an old towel to clean the slide side when the bottom gets really soiled. Dries overnite.
I like the different sole on each foot. Good push off.
I am a casual bowler and bowl around 5 or 6 games every Friday evening, or about two hours. These shoes are very comfortable, though they are a little tight in the length. The width seems true though. They look great and I really like the style.
Nice looking shoe. Well crafted. They do run large but a thick pair of socks has fixed that. I would purchase again but in a smaller size.
Great fit and excellent slide on the approach right out of the box. Very light weight shoe that really performs.
A little stiff but that's compared to the pair I'd been using for several years
Purchased these shoes based on reviews from previous purchasers. They are comfortable and I was able to wear and bowl in them immediately. I purchased a pair of Dexters in 2005, Moccasin style no longer available. The sole on this shoe split where the heal meets the sole. Wish the moccasin style was still available. I passed them on to the landfill - then another bowler recently said she repaired hers with a flexible glue.
I bought this shoe hoping it would be a really nice pair, but was disappointed from the get-go. The slide sole is very sticky, and everyone I know (including me) that has this shoe, has a slide sock. Then, after just a few outings, the "Dexter" label on the tongue started tearing, and eventually ripped completely off both shoes. The white doesn't stay white and is hard to get and keep clean - so it's probably good that the one of them is covered up. I replaced the insole with a pair of my own, otherwise they were very uncomfortable. You would think for a "step-up" shoe it would be nicer, but it's not.
The only pro I have for this shoe is that other than the vinyl tongue logo disintegrating, they have stayed together well. It's the only reason I'm still wearing them, paid too much for them to get rid of until they fail.
