Balls with Same Hook Potential, Lane Conditions and Coverstock as the Roto Grip Hy-Wire:

Roto Grip Hy-Wire

The Roto Grip Hy-Wire bowling ball pairs the successful Middle Roll 70 core with a 62M Hybrid Reactive coverstock that has been finished with a 1500-grit pad and polished. This combination provides midlane motion but stores plenty of energy to get through the pin deck. The hybrid coverstock helps this ball get through the front of the lane like a pearl bowling ball but also creates control at the breakpoint of the lane. Out of the box this ball is best paired with medium oiled lanes.

Question:

Is this a good ball for me if I throw a straight ball. It does not matter where I am on the lanes my ball goes straight, I can stand on the edge of the lane line up with the pin 7 or 10 pin roll my ball straight, and it rolls on the edge, but it does not fall off. I throw roll straight and hard, so will this be a good ball, or do you have any suggestions, sothat I can improve my average?

Answer:

Hello! This ball is going to break late on the lane with a strong backend hook. If you want a ball that just goes straight I would not recommend this ball. Here is a link to our popular spare balls: https://www.bowling.com/search/advanced.aspx?s=tzone&x=0&y=0

Question:

Hi I throw a Haywire would you recommed this ball to be the next step up?

4/27/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hi Fee Fee, thanks for the question. The Hy-Wire is not really a step up from the Haywire since they are both in Roto Grip's HP3 level of bowling balls and both use the same core. The Hy-Wire is going to offer a different reaction on the lane since it has a hybrid coverstock rather than the solid coverstock that the Haywire has.

Question:

I throw the Defiant Soul, how does this ball compare to it

5/10/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hello Texas Rose! The Roto Grip Hy-wire is an upper mid-performance ball that is made for medium oil. The hybrid coverstock helps this ball get through the front of the lane like a pearl bowling ball but also creates control at the break point of the lane. The Roto Grip Defiant Soul is a high performance ball designed for heavy oil. The hybrid reactive coverstock and 4000-grit abralon finish will give this ball mid-lane control with a strong backend. I hope this helps!

Question:

Will the hy wire go down lane farther than hyper cell skid

6/20/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hello! The Hy-wire should be fairly similar in how it moves, but it will be less aggressive than the Hyper Cell Skid, so it might get a little more length for that reason.

Question:

My current ball is dv8 diva and am thinking of replacing it with hy-wire, so wondering how it compares?

7/16/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Great question! The balls are meant to do pretty similar things, so the reactions shouldn't be too different. The Hy-wire is meant to handle a little bit more oil, so you might get a little more hook out of that one.
