When compared to the original Pitbull the Instigator would be a little longer on the lanes before it hooks and it is also stronger than the original Pitbull.

How would you compare to the notorious? They appear to be almost the same.

On the Instigator the hook is 320 and length is 150 while the Notorious has the hook at 270 and length at 150 so they go about the same distance down the lane but the Instigator is much stronger.

The Pitbull Bark is going to read earlier due to the duller finish on the cover. This earlier read on the lanes gives it a bit more grip and the Bark will end up being a little stronger hook overall. The Instigator goes a little longer on the lanes due to the 3000 grit finish but this is still a very strong and high hooking bowling ball.

I just bought the instigator for my solid to go along with Notorious and prowler. Is this a good three ball arsenal? I’m not a tournament player, just a league bowler..

This ball can act as your heavy oil ball and the Notorious can act as a medium to heavy oil option. They have more mid lane than the Prowler which will make the Prowler a better option for medium oil or when the lanes have started to break down so the Prowler can get down the lane well enough before hooking. If you do not see a lot of lighter oil then this would be good but if you get into lighter oil you may need another option because the balls you currently have are very strong and need more oil.

They will actually be very comparable. Both are high performance balls for heavier oil conditions. Both have a solid coverstock with a duller finish. The Instigator has a 3000 grit finish which would normally go longer on the lanes than the 2000 grit finish of the UFO. However, the weight block on the Instigator is designed to read earlier than the weight block on the UFO so this will balance the two back out some to have similar length.
