Your competition won't believe their eyes when you roll the Hammer Scandal Pearl down the lane. This is one strong pearlized bowling ball! This ball takes the proven Scandal core and wraps it with the Semtex Pearl CFI coverstock and then is finished with a 500 then 1000 grit Abralon pad and polished with the Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish. This combination of core, cover, and finish gives this ball mid lane control and all the angularity needed on the backend to dominate on medium to heavy oil conditions. This bowling ball is Carbon Fiber Infused! Carbon fiber is one of the toughest materials on earth. Hammer decided to add this material to the inner core of this ball for added strength and durability allowing them to offer an incredible 3 year warranty.
I used a 45 x 4 x 40 layout (Pin up) on this ball. I also hit the ball lightly with a 4000 pad after drilling. This ball rolls very well. I am a big fan of the Scandal but sometimes it rolls a little early for lighter conditions. I was hoping that this ball would be cleaner through the fronts and it did just that! It also gives a very strong motion at the end of the pattern. Very impressed!!
I have thrown this on multiple patterns thus far and it has impressed me more than any other ball in my bag. On heavier volumes I took my pin down and knocked the shine off by hand with a 2000 abralon and man does this ball read a little sooner and drive hard through the pins! This is the one ball I carry both pin up and down to every tournament and even league in several different houses. This is a motion that strokers, tweeners and higher rev players with have success with. For players with my style it will probably be your favorite ball to date, it allows me to stay right on the lane in my comfort zone, with good length and strong backend and drive. Happy striking!!
Got it with the same pin as my Scandal and it does exactly what I wanted! Gets through the heads cleaner and turns harder for even better carry. Shot 735 and 760 back to back league nights right out of the box in separate houses on different shots. I couldn't be more thrilled with this ball.
Hey Y'all.... Stefanie Johnson here.... so I was a fan of the original Scandal, however this ball completely blows it out of the water! This has to be the most "skid flippy" ball I have throw in the Hammer line - and that's a lot coming from a down and in type of player. A great addition to your arsenal if you are looking for something that will allow you to open up your angles and go more left to right. A side note - the colors of this ball are fantastic!
I'm usually not a pearl ball fan but this one doesn't even compare. So clean through the front part of the lane and reads the mids perfectly. The strong angular backend motion really gets through the pins and doesn't stop. Very impressed by this ball! Thanks Hammer!!
Since I use two hammers I feel that these balls are the way to go
BALL LAYOUT: 75 x 4 1/2 x 30
I simply love my Scandal and the new Scandal Pearl is the strongest pearl ball that Hammer has ever made. With that in mind, I drilled the Pearl similar to my Scandal to compliment each other and it is exactly what I wanted. The pearlized cover is clean enough, but does not offer an over/under reaction due to the strong core of the Scandal. When moving in with my Scandal and started leaving weak 10s, the Scandal Pearl is helps get down the lane and offer more backend motion to kick out the 10. The Scandal Pearl still offers the a new technology that infuses Carbon Fiber into the coverstock to offer the most hooking potential in a pearlized coverstock for the Hammer brand on the heavier medium to heavy lane patterns. The great thing about this strong rolling piece is you can keep moving left and the ball does not stop moving toward the pocket. The Scandal Pearl is about 3-5 less than my Scandal & about 3-5 more boards than my RebeL I am really impressed with this ball motion from the Hammer brand.
I took a little shine off (light 3000 pad) my Scandal Pearl as it was a little too long for my liking! You can use this ball on the fresh House patterns for all 3 games and various medium / medium heavier lane patterns.
With the new 3 year warrantee that Hammer provides for this ball, this is the BEST bang for your buck!
I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that are looking for something offers a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!
The Hammer Scandal Pearl is a 10/18/16 release, and you will not be disappointed. It is Hammer's strongest pearl bowling ball to date. It is a symmetrical core with a nice mid lane reaction, and a larger than normal angular motion down the lane. It has typical Hammer hitting power, a nice color combo, and as the successor to the original Scandal, should be a big seller.
The Scandal is one of the top 3 high end balls in my bag. The Scandal Pearl is the perfect compliment for when the lanes break down and you need to keep the shape you need for perfect pin carry. It is also great for medium fresh conditions. It will give you that extra few feet through the heads with the same great finish as the original Scandal.
Here is my thoughts about the new Scandal Pearl by Hammer. It is one of Hammer's newest high performance bowling balls which features the symmetrical Scandal core with a polished Semtex Pearl cover. The cover and core are manufactured with carbon fiber and come with the industry leading 3 year warranty. The color of this ball is green/smoke/gold swirl. It should be noted that recently, this ball was used by female professional bowler Liz Kuhlkin in setting the new female series record of 890.
I have a rev rate of around 400 with a PAP of 5 9/16 over and 1/8 up. I have tried the new Scandal Pearl on a variety of THS as well as USBC White pattern. I have thrown it box and with a 3000 Abralon surface. The layout I used on mine was 60 x 5 x 70 with a weight hole 4 inches over and 2 inches down from my grip center.
The original Scandal served a specific purpose in my opinion- heavy volume/longer patterns. In that environment, the original Scandal excelled to be sure. On the new Scandal Pearl, I believe that it will hit a much greater variety of conditions. It is much cleaner through the front given the pearl cover. That is not to say that the ball does not offer strong ball motion as it most certainly does. I believe that this ball is best suited for medium volume patterns and will best suited for a variety of pattern lengths except the extremes. I also believe that where the original Scandal would be best for a speed dominant player…the new Scandal Pearl will suit many different styles and rev rates. It should be noted that while this is definitely a weaker version of the original Scandal, it is not in the overall a weaker ball. With proper surface preparation, this ball could easily be one of the first options out of the bag in many different environments.
The Scandal Pearl is readily available. See your local pro shop for additional information on the new Scandal Pearl by Hammer.
The Scandal Pearl is the most hooking pearl ball in Hammers line-up. It is an awesome compliment to the Scandal. It get through the fronts and picks up nicely in the backend and continues through the pins. When it hits, You hear a BIG Boom! I've been able to switch from my Scandal to the Pearl and stay in the same part of the lane and the pearl goes through the spot on the lane that the Scandal is reading and picking up. The Pearl does all this and is a monster on the backend. The hitting power of this ball is amazing! If you loved the Scandal, you need the Pearl in your bag.
This is the strongest pearl ball reaction you can buy. Great length with a lot of continuation. Great compliment to the original Scandal. I drilled mine with a pin up drilling. I did scuff the cover with 4000 abralon to get the ball to pick up a little earlier on the fresh. This ball would be a good ball all bowling styles.
This ball is so different than your typical pearl. It is still very clean up front, but definitely has more mid-lane and overall "roll" than the average pearl. It's very controllable, yet still gives you good pop on the back. I like balls that are predictable, and balls that I can manipulate. This ball is very versatile, and is a must in my bag no matter where I go! I drilled mine pin up, above the bridge, and still rolls great...NOT skid/snappy at all for me!
It performs very well
There are a few balls i have thrown in my bowling career that have as much backend as this ball does. When i get in, and really hook a lane, this is the ball i grab. IF you have never seen a ball hook on the back because you have higher ball speed, this is the ball for you. I throw it 18mph and this ball always hooks. ALWAYS HOOKS! If you love your original scandal and wish in your heart of hearts, that you had something for when it wasnt quite enough, then your prayers have been answered. This ball is cleaner than the original scandal, meaning, it gets through the fronts easier than the original scandal does, and stores all its energy for down lane motion.
Did i mention the Hammer exclusive 3 year warranty? Because if you know any other company offering a 3 year warranty, i would love to hear which company that was. I know now that my hammer balls are always safe.
Did i mention how much this ball hooks on the backend? If you are on the market for an angular ball, look no further.
Exceeds my expectation.
