Motiv Forge Fire

Motiv Forge Fire

The Motiv Forge line of bowling balls continues with the Motiv Forge Fire. This high performance ball introduces the Infusion Hybrid Reactive coverstock which offers a faster reaction to the friction on the lane than its predessesor, the original Forge. Question:

I'm using g a 14 lb motiv combat tank and bowling on mid-heavy oil and I'm leaving alot of pocket 5 pins. Would you expect tmis

10/8/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

A combat tank is not designed to have a large hook potential because it is a urethane cover. Because it is not very much hook it is designed for lighter oil so in medium to heavy oil you would like not get much hook from that ball. If you are coming in the pocket straighter then it will be harder to get pin action and get strikes. You would do better to go to a reactive ball like this Forge and if you have to swing it out and let it come into the pocket with more angle so that it can get better pin action. If you get into lighter oil conditions later in the night you could try the Combat Tank again but I would wait to bring it back out until the lanes are pretty light oil.

Question:

I have forge fire and a roto grip dare devil the dare devil seems stronger in the back end what can I do to surface of the ball make it stronger

11/20/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Dare Devil did have a polished finish out of the box so this polished finish will help the Dare Devil go a little longer and store all of its hook for the backend to make a sharper backend. The Forge Fire has a 4000 grit finish which gives you pretty good length but it starts hooking a little earlier so if you want to get that sharper hook you may have to polish the Forge Fire to help it go longer for a sharper backend.

Question:

Is the forge fire two handed

2/11/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

You can technically use almost any ball for a two handed release. Two handed releases typically have a higher rev rate. If you have a high ball speed too then this ball would do well for you in medium to heavy oil. If you have a slower ball speed then you may want to stick to mostly heavy oil with this ball.

Question:

I currently use the United Revolt can I expect a similar reaction with this ball?

2/13/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will not react quite as late as the United Revolt. It will start to read a little earlier and it will have a smoother hook reaction than the United Revolt which was very angular.

Question:

I have the Rouge Assasin as my first out of the bag. I am wondering if this would be a good ball for heavier oil than the rouge can handle and if it would be a good one two combo

2/16/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

I think you would have to bump up to the Alpha Jackal or the Trident Abyss to get a stronger hook potential more suited for heavy oil conditions.

Question:

Would this be good for a rev dominant player on 44+ ft oil patterns?

3/16/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this could work well for a rev dominant bowler in a longer oil pattern. It is designed to give you good length so it will not jump too early on you in heavier oil.
