Motiv Octane Burn

The Octane Burn from Motiv was designed for light to medium oil lanes and offers length with a powerful backend reaction. This ball has the Helix SFP Reactive coverstock and is finished with a 5500 grit LSP finish. This combination is clean with a good reaction to friction while being angular with a smooth transition and control. The Quadfire core helps provide length and good track flare. For most bowlers this is a great go to ball when the lanes start to break down. Competitive bowlers will enjoy the consistency this ball provides as well as the controlled transition at the backend.

Must Have!

The Octane burn for me can handle much more oil then the original Octane. The stronger cover in the ball allows for more midlane traction on medium to lighter oil patterns. Compared to the original Octane, the burn is much more predictable and is still great even when the lanes get pretty dry in the backend. It is a ball that is slightly cleaner then the Shock but still has the motion of the Shock, so it is a great 1-2 punch when the Shock becomes too early and lazy down the lane.

Question: Is this ball compatible with the Hammer Black Widow Assassin?

8/18/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: Hello! I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "compatible". It might be a good compliment to the Black Widow Assassin for when the oil starts breaking down because the ball will be less aggressive overall. But the ball is not really comparable to the Assassin. It will react differently.

Question: Would you recommend this ball for a full roller layout?

10/11/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: A full roller layout can be used on just about every ball but the other features of the ball will tell you if this will be something you are interested in. So if you wanted something that gets good length with a smooth backend hook in medium to light oil, you would like this ball and just have it drilled for a full roller.
