The Tank series of bowling balls is one of the longest-running product lines in Motiv history. The Tank bowling balls are known for their control on the harshest of lane conditions. With that same criteria, Motiv introduces the Purple Tank Urethane mid-performance bowling ball. Unlike its predecessors, the Purple Tank has a true urethane coverstock. The coverstock on this ball was built on the technology of the Microcell Polymer but without the issues caused by oil absorption. This coverstock design creates control as well as aggressive traction. It is paired with the proven Flux core to increase the control of the ball and lower the track flare. This core has success on wet/dry conditions when bowlers tend to need shallower angles. The Motiv Purple Tanks is a great match on harsh oil patterns, short sport conditions, and also for big rev bowlers looking for control by providing awesome traction at the mid-lane and the control down the lane that urethane is known for.
short patterns, lighter patterns
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have tried other brands of urethane in the past and this one is different by the way it shapes down lane. The Purple tank has more continuation than what I have seen out of other companies, not saying it is good or bad it’s just different from what people think of a Urethane ball. The Purple Tank seems to preserve more energy than what I see out of other versions of urethane. I personally can get more of a “traditional” urethane reaction out of a stronger pin, Tank Blitz. The purple Tank is a good ball for lighter patterns and when players need some form of control.
One of the older MOTIV lines, the Tanks are the go to bowling balls for control on hard conditions. The newest addition to this line is the Purple Tank. The Tank series changed dramatically with Microcell Polymer technology. Microcell Polymer is now the solution for the ball motion gap between reactive resin and urethane. Microcell polymer does not replace urethane completely. MOTIV has been looking for a special urethane cover stock that provides traction on modern lane surfaces conditioned with the high volume oil patterns competitive bowlers see so regularly. MOTIV is introducing the brand new Purple Solid Urethane cover stock. It builds on the technology of Microcell Polymer, but it eliminates the oil absorption that causes MCP covers to shape down lane. This new cover allows the Purple Tank to show incredible control along with the aggressive traction seen from previous MCP balls like the Tank Blitz. It is ready to dominate when true urethane is needed in battle. To boost the control factor, the Flux core is employed on the Purple Tank to lower the track flare potential.

is this a good ball to use on the house shot
This ball is rated for medium oil conditions but it will have a weaker hook than some of the reactive coverstock balls rated for the same conditions. This may not work as your first ball out of the bag but it would be good to use as the lanes start to break down some in the second or third game.
What kind of hook radios does it have
On Motivs website they have their own scale that they use for hook ratings. The list Length, Backend, and Hook. This ball has Length 11 , Backend 12 , and Hook 44. This is not a very aggressive ball since it was a urethane coverstock which would be less aggressive than the Reactive coverstock options.
Due to the time it takes to produce the Motiv Purple Tank ball it will ship in immediately. We cannot ship this ball outside the United States.
