Balls with Same Hook Potential, Lane Conditions and Coverstock as the Motiv Ripcord:

Motiv Ripcord

Motiv designed the Ripcord to offer as much angle and continuation through the pins as they possibly could. This ball is a great choice when you need something that will generate downlane motion when facing medium oil conditions. The Ripcord performs well when the oil in the front part of the lane has decreased forcing you to move in to generate angle. The Infusion Pearl Reactive converstock on this ball offers easy length with awesome down lane motion. The Oblivion core with a massive flip block found in the Ripcord was designed to generate downlane motion as well as angle and continuation through the pins.

Question:

Would this ball be good for a 2 finger baller? If not what bowling balls would you recommend?

11/29/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Most bowlers that only use 2 fingers usually get a pretty high rev rate. If you have a high rev rate you want to make sure the ball goes down the lane a good ways before it takes off so you do not have the ball hooking in front of the head pin. This ball is designed for good length and strong backend hook so it should work well for you. If you have a slow ball speed and high revs, this would do better in medium to heavy oil but if you have normal ball speed or high speed to match your high revs then it works in medium oil.

Question:

I use a motiv t10and like it alot but a little too much toward the end of night. Would the ripcord or venom shock be better

3/4/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Ripcord is a slight step down so it may not be a big enough drop to switch to but the Venom Shock could be a noticeable drop down for when the lanes get more medium to lighter oil at the end of the night.

The pearl coverstock and polished finish should give you good length which is good for someone with a slower ball speed.

Question:

What’s the difference between the rip cord and the flight, please! Someone told me the flight has more drag or slow when rolling’ was wondering if you knew what that meant or would both of them have a slow motion down lane. A guy from bowler x said this as he was demonstrated the flight, as he was bowling with it he said Man this ball rolls slow?

7/20/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Ripcord has a polished finish on a pearl coverstock to give it excellent length and and an angular backend hook while the Ripcord Flight has a solid coverstock with a duller finish to read more in the midlane for a strong arcing hook. I am not sure exactly what the person meant by slow rolling but the Flight starts hooking earlier on the lane and the Ripcord hooks later on the lanes. If you have a slow ball speed you may prefer the Ripcord to help the ball get down the lane better before it starts hooking so it does not roll out too early. If you have a high ball speed you may prefer the Flight so it has time to grip and react on the lanes to match your faster ball speed.

Question:

Would this ball work for some one slow speed?

3/15/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this ball has very good length which is what you would need if you have a slower ball speed. If you have higher revs then this ball would be good for you in medium to heavy oil but if you have average to lower revs then this would work well in medium oil.

Question:

eighty year old with short fingers and small wrist ball speed 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 mph low revs what do you recomment to to get ball through headpin urethane, reactive, hybird

4/10/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

It may depend on the lane conditions that you bowl in. You may need to also adjust some for the lane conditions a little bit. So if a ball was rated for medium to light oil, you may need to just use the ball in medium conditions so that the ball does not react too early with your ball speed.
