Pros:
Works great in heavy oil, works all night
Cons:
You can NOT throw this ball slow
Best Uses:
Low rev bowlers, heavy oil patterns
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Finally found that "magic" ball that just works
Normally a 190 average bowler, tried several asymmetrical balls from several manufacturers and they usually only work for a game and a half at my house. With the Trident Odyssey, averaged low to mid 200s and the ball worked great all the way through all 3 games each outing. Only con I've found is you can NOT throw this ball slow. If you have a line established and take even a little bit off your speed, this thing will rip across the lane. Has a really nice back end snap and carries very well. Highly recommend.

Med to high volume patterns

Trident Oddessey
The Trident Odyssey is the second strongest ball in the Motiv lineup just behind the Jackal Legacy. The biggest benefit of this ball is that unlike the Legacy a player can chase the pattern left longer due to the above average continuation of the Odyssey. The Odyssey Is the first ball out of my bag on higher volume patterns because it always seems to roll true with great feedback on what the pattern and lane surface is doing that particular day.

Trident Odyssey
The Trident Odyssey is the newest ball added to the Trident line. It had a strong cover and brings back the popular Turbulent core. The Trident Odyssey creates a lot of hook without giving away down lane motion. Designed to control the pocket in medium-heavy oil conditions, the Trident Odyssey is a great piece to add to anyone look for that controllable high end piece. This piece is great when a Jackal Ghost isn’t enough ball in the front of the lane and need something smoother for the back part of the lane.

Seek the Odyssey
Seek the Odyssey!
Layout: 65x5x35
This is the first Trident I have thrown and it has set a high bar for the next Trident pieces to come!
The Odyssey has that sought-after smooth control motion but has no shortage of strength.
A great step-up piece from the Pride I see this ball being in play on higher volume house shots or a great piece for tournament bowlers.

Pros:
Smooth plenty of energy left to the pocket, strong but doesn’t go flat .
Cons:
None yet, but might be a bit much for burnt up lanes
Best Uses:
Fresh lanes with heave oil
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Trident Odyssey
This ball is smooth. Nice mid lane and smooth turn in back. Not flippy or hockey stick in the back. I’m a older bowler with slower speed and moderate revs. Crankers might find this ball a challenge on lighter or shorter oil patterns.
By Scott B from Sacramento, Ca
Pros:
Lefty or righty, it’s extremely versatile.
Cons:
Haven’t found one yet.
Best Uses:
90% of the time it’s the first ball out of my bag.
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Trident Odyssey!
What to say about the all new Trident Odyssey.
Very seldom is a ball an instant favorite. The all new Trident Odyssey is definitely one of the favorites!
I drilled mine 70X4.5X25. I find this ball to be extremely unique and a great comparison to the Alpha Jackal.
First off, for an Asymmetrical it is relatively clean. The Turbulent core allows the ball to greatly rev up in the front part of the lane while the Coercion™ FYS Solid Reactive cover allows the ball to store its energy and have plenty of downlane reaction without the ball “burning” up in the front part of the lane. I compared this ball to the Alpha Jackal as they both have the same coverstock but different cores. The Alpha jackal for myself a lefty with a 375-400 rev rate, Pap is 3 7/8, 7/8 up, the Alpha would be over under at times. The Odyssey has taken away that and been a huge staple in my arsenal. I highly recommend this ball to any style bowler. Left handed or right handed the Odyssey will not disappoint!

Question:
How would this compare to the idol synergy?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball would react earlier on the lanes to give you more of an arc hook and this will also have a stronger overall hook to help this handle heavier oil better than the Idol Synergy.
