Xeno ("ZEE-NO") means alien or strange which is the perfect description of the Radical Xeno bowling ball. This ball is unlike any other because it doesn't overreact to dry conditions and it doesn't underreact to oil. A performance ball like that is rare! The combination of a strong asymmetric core and a customized coverstock formula makes this ball idea for medium to heavy oiled house lane conditions.
Radical XenoJust drilled up this ball. I put a 35 X 3 3/4 X 25 layout in it. My ball speed is 16.5 mph. Rev rate around 275 rpms. This ball is Great! I have used it in two different house shots in two different centers. Works great it reads the mids and has a larger arc shape. I also have used it on a medium sport pattern. The sport pattern required just a little bit more surface. Around 1500 grit. And worked very well. So if your looking for a new ball to start the new fall season. Radical Bowling Technologies has it. It called the Xeno. Robert Way
Drilled the XENO due to the similarities it had to the REAX V2 solid, I wanted a controlled asymmetrical so I used a 75, 5, 70 layout and it was just what I was looking for. I bowl lots of tournaments and this is my benchmark ball, it reduces the over under of the flatter pattern. This ball will be making the trip to Vegas.
Layout: Full Roller The goal with this Xeno for me was to create a step down from the GURU Supreme that I could go to when I need just a couple of boards less at the breakpoint without sacrificing the strong midlane read and medium length of the Guru. I put identical layouts on the balls and that is exactly what I found! The Xeno gets through the fronts then provides some strong early traction and heavy midlane roll, along with a very predictable continuation. I threw this Xeno on both the house shot and on a high volume pattern (43 feet, 44mls). The Xeno was very strong for me on the house shot, forcing me quite a bit right of where I would normally be (20-6 to start) but easily got back to the pocket with energy left over. On the higher volume, the Xeno cut through the heavy volume easily and still maintained its continuation regardless of how far in I moved. From the Guru Supreme I was trying to replicate, I had the Xeno about 2-1 different overall with very similar shape. Very impressed with this piece!! -Justin Knowles, Brunswick Regional Staff Member
This ball is phenomenal, I've never had a benchmark ball that showed me what the lane was giving me so well. I have found that it comes out of the box a little dull, however this does not dull the performance. The cover is super adjustable and allows any bowler to match up with this piece. This ball will be the first ball out of my bag at every tournament and also in league.
I picked up the Xeno to take the place of my Reax 2 Solid. I went with a similar layout (50 x 4.5 x 40) and have not been disappointed. The Xeno is a little stronger than the Reax 2 Solid and has a similar overall shape. This ball makes a great benchmark ball that can combat the over / under of a fresh house shot. Combined with the Xeno Pearl, you can cover a wide range of conditions with minor surface adjustments.
The only problem was the same as with ridiculous, a short pin placement.
This ball is amazing! My average was not that great and my highest game was 207 and ever since I started practicing with this ball and using this ball I have been bowling much better games AND I have bowled many games over 207 now including my new highest 257. I would buy this ball again.
