All roads have been explored when looking for the technology to make up the Storm All-Road mid-performance bowling ball. The Inverted Fe2 weight block technology used in this ball allows more energy to be transfered to the pins. The NRG Hybrid reactive coverstock is unique and enhances the traction of the ball due to the Nano additive.

There were several Storm bowling balls with Nano in the name. This would be closest to the Storm Hy-Road Nano. They have the same weight blocks but this ball would go just a little longer on the lane than the Hy-Road Nano because it has a hybrid cover at 4000 grit and the Hy-Road Nano had a solid cover at 2000 grit.

You may adjust the coverstock as needed to get the desired reaction you want. If you go to a higher grit then the ball will go longer on the lanes and shift more of the hook to the backend.

To get something that has a similar reaction to your SonIQ I would actually suggest the Storm Match Up Pearl Black/Orange/Silver as a good compliment. They both have pearl coverstocks and the same finish so they will have similar reactions but the Match Up Pearl is better suited for medium to lighter oil and you can use the SonIQ for medium to some heavy oil.

Actually the Storm Hy-Road Pearl would probably be a little closer comparison to the Fire Road because they both were a pearl cover with a 1500 grit polished finish.

The Hot Cell was a urethane ball with a high performance weight block which is pretty hard to replace. The Storm Pitch series is the only Storm urethane option currently so you may prefer an option like that.

I would not recommend the All Road as a good ball to switch to after using the Phaze 3 just because the Phaze 3 would get more length and the All Road is going to read a little earlier on the lanes. If you had a Phaze II then the All Road would be a good compliment to go down to but for the Phaze 3 it would be better to get something that still gives you a later break. The new ball coming out called the Electrify Pearl would be a good option to checkout.

This does have a slightly different reaction to the Hy-Road and it is also a little less hook potential so if you have a good light-dry oil ball and you have a gap between your Hy-Road and that drier oil ball then this could fill that gap pretty nicely. However, I think if you just have the Hy-Road and you need something more for lighter oil conditions you may want to go down a little more to something like the Electrify series to give you a better 1-2 option and more versatility.

The All-Road has a little duller finish to help grip earlier on the lanes. The Hy-Road goes a little longer but also it can handle the same amount of oil as the All-Road. So the biggest difference is just the finish causing one to read a little earlier and one to read a little later.

This would be a good option for what you are looking to do. Out of the box this has a 4000 grit finish which still gives you a little length but it will read earlier than most of the other options in the same group so you can play a smoother arcing hook.
