Question:

Can I use this ball after my Storm Phaze 3.

6/4/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be a good option just below the Phaze 3 and it has similar features to the Phaze 3 such as a hybrid cover with 1500 grit polished finished. So this will have a similar reaction to the Phaze 3 but in medium to lighter oil conditions.

Question:

How does this compare to the Rotogrip Hustle HSB?

6/15/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The bowling balls have a very similar reaction actually. The Electrify has a slightly earlier weight block to give it a little smoother reaction and because it starts to read a little earlier it may also cover a few more boards overall.

Question:

I have lost some of my ball speed as I get older. (I'm 66 )My arsenal is Timeless, Sonic pearl, hy road solid and this last year I got a Rhino which the first game in league I threw a 279 with. I like the rhino but on dry or burn I still struggle because of my ball speed. Would the ball be a good ball for me to help me with control or is it to close to the Rhino? My top ball speed is around 13 mph.

6/28/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will be slightly more aggressive than the Brunswick Rhino so on drier conditions this would try read a little earllier and stronger than the Rhino which may not be as good if your ball speed is slower. You could try a Storm Mix option to get something weaker than the Rhino if you need something for really dry lanes that won't over hook on you.

Question:

how will it compare toe a golden jackel which is what i am now using

6/28/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This will be much less aggressive than the Golden Jackal. The Golden Jackal is designed to handle heavier oil while this is more for lighter oil. They both have good length so if you needed something that is similar to your Golden Jackal but for lighter oil when the Golden Jackal is too strong to use, this could be a good back up option.

Question:

I throw at a speed of 15-16 and I currently use a 13# Storm Hy-road Hybrid and it is my favorite ball now but, I now have to go down to a 11-12 pounder and I want to try a new ball how does this ball compare to the Hy-road Hybrid, Phase111, and Storm All-Road? What ball would you recommend for my speed and weight limit also I tend to stand on the left far of the lane and throw the ball in between third arrow and forth arrow on the right? The best past ball I ever had was a code red and I dearly misst hat ball I work the best with it so I am looking for a ball similar to the Code Red

7/23/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you were going to 11lbs the Electrify Hybrid would be the only option in your selection that is offered in that weight. However, if you go to 12lbs you do have all three options. The Phaze III has the R3S Hybrid which is a newer version of the R2S Hybrid cover that you have on the Hy-Road. The All-Road out of the box is a different type of hybrid and finished at 4000 grit so I feel like that may be the most different option from what you have listed. The Electrify Hybrid will still be a decent option because it has the same finish as your Hy-Road but it has a slightly weaker hybrid cover. So you could go with something a little stronger in the Phaze III or something a little weaker in the Electrify Hybrid. We also have the Hy-Road still available too if you prefer to just drop the weight but keep the same option.

Question:

my current bag is Physix, Astro Physix, Mix. Would Electrify hybrid be a good fit between Mix and Atstro?

8/11/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this could give you similar length to your Astrophysix but works better in medium to lighter oil. It will fit well between the Astrophysix and Mix.

Question:

How does this compare to the hustle pbr?

8/16/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Hustle PBR comes out of the box with a duller finish so that it will read earlier than the Electrify Hybrid which has a polished finish to go longer. They both are designed from medium to lighter oil conditions so the biggest difference is the length.

Question:

Would this ball be a good back up for the IQ tour

8/29/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this could be a good backup option to the IQ Tour. The IQ Tour is rated for medium-heavy oil and it has a 4000 grit finish which reads some in the midlane but has good continuation on the backend. This Electrify Hybrid is designed to work in medium to lighter oil so when the lanes are drying out and the IQ Tour is getting too aggressive on the lanes, you can drop to the Electrify Hybrid which will get more length and work better in medium to lighter oil.

Question:

What is the difference between the electrify hybrid and the electrify pearl

8/31/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The pearl coverstock will go longer than the hybrid coverstock. So the Electrify Hybrid reads just a little earlier and smoother than the Electrify Pearl which reads a little later and sharper on the backend.

Question:

Can i use this ball if my style is only straight & sometimes backup

9/20/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

You may be able to use this but it does have hook potential so any spin you have on the ball will be read. If you prefer the ball to go straight there are less expensive options that will go straight. You may look at the Storm Ice or Storm Mix series.

Question:

I am 70 and have not bowled in 40 years. When I quit i used a AMF 3 dot and averaged 200 in league play. I would classify myself as a left handed stroker. I want the ball to start between the first and second arrow left and go long with late break. Will the Storm Electrify Hybrid work for me? Will probably go with 14#. Suggesting other balls would be appreciated.

10/5/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Electrify Hybrid has a polished finish which will help give you good length before it reacts so that will let you play down and in on medium oil conditions. It can work down into some light oil conditions too but it will be a little stronger and it may start a little earlier as you get down into some drier conditions. But being left handed you will not see the lanes dry out as quickly so you would be able to use this most (if not all) of the the night with no problem.

Question:

How does this ball compare to the Storm Hyroad

10/10/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Storm Hy-Road will have a stronger cover and weight block to help it work more in medium oil and some heavy oil conditions. They have similar length because they have the same finish and both are hybrid coverstocks but the Hy-Road will have a higher hook potential.

Question:

How much does the ball curve/hook?

10/15/2020 - By

This ball is a mid performance ball so it has a medium amount of hook. It also has a polished finish to give the ball good length before it hooks.

Question:

Would this be a good second ball backing up the IQ Emerald Tour?

11/4/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be a good option for when the IQ Emerald Tour is too strong and the lanes are getting lighter oil. The Electrify Hybrid has good length similar to the Emerald so you would be able to play a similar line as you move down.

Question:

Is this ball good for a straight bowler throwing their first hook ball

11/30/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be a good option starting out. It works well in medium to lighter oil conditions which is what most bowling centers have on a typical open bowling night. It does have a decent amount of hook potential on the backend in these conditions but it will not be too aggressive for you to transition into.

Question:

How does the core in the 10-11# compare to 12#

12/2/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The 10-11lb has a traditional 3 piece core (pancake) which will not really provide any performance so the performance in those weights would come from the coverstock and finish. The 12-13lb will have a Modified Centripetal Core so it will still give you some performance from the weight block.

Question:

Can I get this ball in a even 15 lb

12/15/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

To get the ball in 15lbs even you will need to list your request in the specs box for pin/top weight or in the customer comments box on the final page of the checkout process. If you do not mention that you want 15lbs exactly then the ball could come a few ounces over 15lbs.

Question:

I love the pitch line. Currently throwing the pitch black and the fever pitch. How would this ball work with these?

1/23/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Electrify Hybrid will be a reactive cover which will have a stronger hook potential than the urethane Pitch line. Also, this ball is designed to have more length with a stronger backend than the Pitch series. Because this is stronger, you may prefer this ball for medium oil and use your Pitch in lighter to drier conditions.

Question:

What is Storms best ball for rolling on dry lanes and ball speed 13-14 mph

2/13/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Of their reactive coverstock bowling balls the Storm Tropical Surge would be the best option for drier conditions. This will give you good length before reacting on the lanes. Storm also has a couple of urethane options under the Pitch series that work well in some drier conditions and give a smoother arcing hook if you like that reaction more.

Question:

How does this ball compare to the Storm Super natural hybrid

2/15/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Super Natural Hybrid was a urethane coverstock which is much weaker than the reactive coverstock on the Electrify. So the Electrify will have a sharper stronger backend hook.

Would this ball be good to go to after the hyroad max

3/18/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this ball can handle down into lighter oil conditions better than the Max and it has more length than the Max so you can use this when the Max starts getting too aggressive or reading too early.
