At first, like any shoe, they were completely stiff! However I can not complain too much because my first time wearing them I bowled a 190. Anyways, after you wear them a couple times they loosen up! I decided to get shoes for everyone in our family and these fit the bill (price and style-wise). My wife usually wears a 9 1/2, but we heard these run small. So I got her a 10 and they fit just right. When my wife opened the box, her first words were "Oh, these are cute!" I bought a 9 which is my normal size and they are pleanty long. A little stiff, but I only use them once a week, they'll break in. I love them more if they were a little more personalized, catchy design, but I went for comfort, I can personalize them myself.
