Verified Reviewer Pros:Great Weight, Attractive Design, Carries well, Finishes Strong Cons:Needs lots of cleaning, A Lot of Maintenance Best Uses:Tournaments, Local Bowling Alley Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I was one of the first users to write a review on this ball. The balls was amazing right out of the box. After 40-50 games it does lose its aggressiveness. The pores in the ball suck up so much oil that it constantly has to be wiped down, cleaned, and dulled. I have also considered boiling the ball to suck out the oil. If maintained the ball can be great. If not, you will be disappointed. Was this review helpful to you? I first seen this ball thrown by a PBA bowler in the 2010 World Champion ship. This person beat all bowlers and commeted, "You need to go out get you a Taboo", and well I sure did. I dont regret it at all. I had it drill to go long and also polished. I almost bowled a perfect 300 Sunday 12/26/10. I Love this ball, now you need to go out and get you a "Taboo". Verified Reviewer Pros:Great Weight, Attractive Design, Comfortable Grip, Flawless Surface Best Uses:Tournaments, Local Bowling Alley Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Have been bowling since I was 12 years old and have use all kinds of balls. Even owned the original Black Hammer when it first came out. Over the last few years have been using Storm products, but the Taboo has made me reconsider my choices. The Taboo does excatly what you have it drilled to do. Had mine drilled to travel futher down the lane before finishing hard. I could not be happier with the results. The wieght and balance on the ball is very comfortable. The power with which it hits reminds me alot of the first Hammer. You get very good pin reaction. The ball seems to hold it line even when the shot starts to break down. Just slight moves with your feet allow you to get the same reaction from the ball. The only draw back I have found with the ball and it is a small one. Is in older houses that still have wooden lanes the ball will start to finish to hard after a few games have been bowled on the lanes. But this could be partly because of the way I have it drilled. Over all I could not be happier with the ball and will continue to use Hammer products in the future. Also after 42 years of bowling and many high 700 series I shot my first 800 with the Taboo. So if you are looking for a new ball I highly reccomend the Taboo from Hammer. Was this review helpful to you? Yes / No- You may also flag this review.

Verified Reviewer Pros:Flawless Surface, Attractive Design, Comfortable Grip Best Uses:Tournaments, Local Bowling Alley Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I was NOT bowling well on the house patterns at three different bowling alleys.... I'm a 190 avg and the shot always seemed very oily and I could never seem to get my ball to move the way I wanted it too.....ORIGINALLY considering a Jigsaw I bought the ball to give me SOMETHING that would move in oil and allow me to bowl the line that I prefer to throw. Threw 2-220 plus games right out of the pro-shop in an unfamiliar bowling alley..... Next weekend same house threw 12 game tournament -212 avg. First tournament game was 257... IMMEDIATELY bought one for the wife. SINCE my purchase my last 7 series were 600 plus.... 4 640 plus last one 670. I have had more strike strings with this ball regardless of the house shot than any of my other balls.....8 in a row last game with 279 . It allows me to swing it out or go direct at the pocket..... seems to be easier to throw and more forgiving than my other balls (both Hammers - Bite & Sting). Thrown slower in heavy oil it comes alive in the backend...... Good luck to all.... Was this review helpful to you? Yes / No- You may also flag this review.

Verified Reviewer Pros:Fantastic reaction, Great Weight, Attractive Design, Flawless Surface Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend What a fun ball! I dont own this one but I tried it out during an Ebonite Demo Day at my local lanes. the balls were drilled with Generic spans and switchable grips so the fit wasnt perfect but it was enough to get a feel for the ball. This ball has some insane reaction to it. I regularly throw a Storm Reign (R.Hand) and stand on the 20 and throw on the 2nd arrow. With THIS ball I was standing over the left gutter and throwing it across the 3rd arrow. it would almost kiss the right gutter then explode into the pocket. Its a little intense for regular use. obviously you would only need it if the lanes were floating in oil but its a nice addiction if you want to live the crazy life and watch your ball do a 90 degree turn :) Was this review helpful to you? Verified Reviewer Pros:Very Predicable, Great Control Best Uses:Local Bowling Alley, Tournaments, Upgrade Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I've had zero problems adjusting to this ball and it sure is a joy to bowl with. My first couple of weeks getting familiar and practicing with the Taboo have shown me that my average is in for a big jump. On average, my game scores have increased by over 40 pins a game! I was expecting some growing pains as I got adjusted to a ball with a more agressive hook but the break to the pocket is very smooth and easy to adjust for changing lane conditions. I just go thru my motions and give the ball a little more room on the outside and watch it do the rest of the work as it comes back hard into the pocket. I'm very pleased with this product and you will to. Was this review helpful to you? Yes / No- You may also flag this review.

Its a ball that will always fight to get back to the pocket. It has a nice hook wich is easy to read. It hooks the most out of all of the taboo balls. The taboo blue silver has a stronger break to the pocket and goes longer. Not as early rolling as the Original Taboo. Then the Jet black which is the blue silver when the lanes dry up. If you like to move left and throw a bigger hook. Then you will love it. You will love owning all of the taboos!! Was this review helpful to you? Yes / No- You may also flag this review.
