Great Transition Piece
On my Gremlin Tour-X I went with something a little different as far as layout. I went 5 1/2 x 3 x 3. My intention was to keep the ball clean and stable and continuous so when I encounter super chopped up lanes and transition, I can count on this ball to not overreact off of anything it sees. I will say mission accomplished. If you are looking for that type of motion, consider a similar layout. I can see the similarities to the Ion Pro Hybrid that people are mentioning. Not only the colors, but the shape downlane is very similar as well. It does not get forward and lock up due to the reduced flare potential in the core. As a starter ball, it's a little too clean for my liking. If I'm a little hot on my speed, it'll go through it and end up way behind the headpin. This ball likes a little friction on the lanes to start in the right place and be most effective. Having said that, your results may be different with a stronger layout, mine is on the weak side. Overall a great transition ball for me and something that keeps me out of trouble when they get weird.
