Storm Bionic
Storm Bionic
The Storm Bionic is engineered to be the ultimate symmetrical benchmark, delivering a powerful blend of versatility, predictability, and dynamic motion that allows it to thrive on virtually any lane condition. As the next evolution in the Ion line, the Bionic takes the proven performance DNA of the Ion Max and reimagines it in a symmetrical design that offers unmatched control and adaptability.
At the heart of the Bionic is the Torsion A.I. Core, a symmetrical evolution of the Element Max Core. By rotating the iconic stacked ellipse structure into a symmetrical shape, Storm preserved the low RG stability bowlers trust while enhancing layout versatility. The design intentionally broadens toward the equator, allowing drilling to intersect the core more effectively and increase differential. This results in more distinct layout reactions, giving bowlers and pro shop operators greater ability to fine-tune ball motion. The center-heavy mass keeps the RG low, while the integrated flip block delivers Storm’s signature torque response off the end of the pattern—an unmistakable motion that stands apart in today’s market.
Wrapping the core is Storm’s proven NRG Hybrid coverstock, one of the most versatile formulations Storm has ever produced. The NRG Hybrid offers balanced mid-lane traction with a smooth, controllable backend, making it easy to adjust the surface for a wide range of lane conditions and bowling styles. Whether you need earlier read, added blend, or a cleaner look with controlled continuation, the Bionic adapts effortlessly.
Designed to be a true “go-to” ball, the Bionic provides confidence shot after shot. Its smooth arc, reliable backend motion, and exceptional tunability make it an all-encompassing option for league play, tournaments, and sport conditions alike.

Bionic is in control
Core - Storm Torsion AI Core RG - 2.47, Diff - .050 NRG Hybrid Coverstock 4000 Grit Layout 4 x 4.5 x 2.5 Out of the box the Bionic is a 4000 grit hybrid coverstock designed to be a symmetrical piece that can handle any condition and any bowler. My expectations for the Bionic was to be a go to benchmark piece that could be under the Vengeance. I was skeptical at first with the 4000 surface but I was not disappointed. The Bionic did lane shine rather quickly but I did not experience any changes in performance. First night on the lanes I was able to use the Bionic for all three games rolling a 685 out of the box. The Bionic is spot on with its predictability, and versatility. The controlled backend motion will allow it to be in many league and tournament bags. Mike Walker Anne Marie Duggan’s Pro Shop

Storm Bionic
Bionic is the newest iteration of the Element core shape found in the Ion series. This symmetrical Torsion A.I. core really sets itself apart from other upper mid symmetricals in the lineup in terms of hook shape. Familiar to the Ion Max, this ball just. keeps. hooking. I feel like I can get it back from anywhere, but at the same time it's never too jumpy or unpredictable. The NRG Hybrid cover, featured on the Physix and All Road (two of my favorites), goes hand-in-hand with the Torsion A.I. core to produce a uniquely consistent, punchy, continuous hook shape that really compliments my other go-to symmetricals like the RockStar and Phaze 2 Pearl. This has been the first ball out of my bag more and more; you do not want to miss out on this unique piece from SPI! -Chase Valenzuela
