Primal TV4 and TR2: Thrust core combination
For any doubters out there about the hooking potential of the New Motiv Primal TV4, you need not worry. This ball can get back from anywhere on the lanes. I recently drilled up a Primal just for the PBA Shark pattern. I laid this ball out to be strong, read early and then lay off on the back end. The layout was 40 x 4" x 50. Needless to say I had my best regional finishe ever, with a tie for the 3rd and 4th place. On Day 2 when they re-oiled twice during the match play rounds, I had a really good look with the Primal, but it actually started to hook too much in the mid lane. I was actually able to get right on the shark pattern with a TR2. The core in these two pieces is unbelievable. Both of these balls rev hard and just destroy the pins. I hope that Motiv will continue to use this core in the future, as it is becoming one of the greatest cores of all time!

The Primal TV4 ball is designed for medium oil patterns. The ball performs as advertised. It pushes through the heads with ease as on fresh shots as well as clearing heads that are starting to burn up relatively easily. As the ball gets to the midlane the core starts to take over, a little later then the Cruel C51, and you can visually see the ball rev (thanks to the Neomark graphics) up. As the ball finds the friction an arcy change of direction. For me the pins stay low. I am able to use the TV4 playing down the boards as well as swinging it out to the dry or deep inside as long as I can find some trace of oil in the hads. The ball recovers well. There are two times I found the ball struggles. On heavily oiled fresh shots and on shots where the length of the pattern starts to play shorter late in the tournament day.
I've seen the ball perform well on a 41 foot Kegal Turnpike Pattern where it actually gave me room to the right (relative to the other players) and I've thrown in on fresh THS on both Wood and AMF Synthetics. The Primal, just like the Cruel, does not seem to have a surface preference as it reacted well on all surfaces.
If you use this ball as designed on medium patterns or after the shot has started to break down, it is a very effective ball. .
The TV4 gives Motiv a piece of equipment for Motiv believers between the Cruel and the QZseries. The one big advantage the Primal has for me over the Cruel it the ability to move deep (inside 4th arrow) and throw it right and still have it recover without burning up. I'm very colorblind but I've heard from multiple bowlers that the ball is very pleasing to the eye and will give it good shelf appeal.

This ball is all that it is expected to be! The graphics alone are enough to get it. Left handed bowler with a two handed release stand 5 boards right throw third arrow left ball snaps around so hard and when it hits wow is it loud! Another great ball from motiv. While getting the ball I found out the shop pro his son and the owner of the bowling alley all drilled this ball for themselves. First game was a 208 and every strike was brooklyn really had to adjust to get down and in to the pocket, very aggressive ball!!! Get this ball and get motivated. And it its supposed to be given 5 stars but it wouldn't allow me to click on it...

[...] Review: The Primal is the first ball out of the bag since it is made to overcome freshly oiled conditions. It travels nicely through the front part of the lane then reads the midlane and makes a strong move toward the pocket. What makes this ball a winner is Motiv's already proven Thrust core matched with a strong pearl cover, the new Vicious Pearl Reactive. This cover handles surface changes very effectively since I have added extra Motiv polish to increase length and have also used a 4000 pad to create an earlier read to even out the backend. All I have to say is Motiv is going in the right direction with their ball releases. This ball is another nice addition to my Motiv arsenal. Thanks Motiv! Video Review: [@]

Motiv does it again. This ball provides a very smooth reaction with tons of hitting power. Don't get me wrong, just because it's smooth, don't underestimate it's hooking potential. The ball is very versatile to all kinds of conditions and lines of play. When the lanes have a lot of oil you can play very straight with this ball and not sacrifice anything, and as they lanes open up you can really get left and swing it. This ball will compliment the Motiv Cruel and be stronger than the TZ3. Oh and by the way I shot a 290 with this ball the very first game. Follow your instincts and pick up the Primal TV4 Today!
