Bowling is a sport that happens outside the lanes just like any other sport in the world. Practicing the fundamentals of the game can happen when you are walking in the shopping mall, practicing your form. The true bowler knows this happens more often than not. Posting a shot in the middle of the store. Yes it may sound funny but when you are determined to be the best at what you do, it has to happen not only during competition but outside of competition as well.

Yes most of our practice happens on the lanes. Who is to say that if you take your steps in front of a mirror at the house won't help? Making sure your hand at the end of your swing is opened and relaxed. The shaking of the hand above your head. The balance arm and leg going to their correct spots throughout your shot. You can always work on your game at any time. It is that determination inside of you which will bring out the crazy practice methods.

Let's take Lebron James. He is out to prove that he is the best in basketball. He is driven by winning championships. Do you think the streak the Miami Heat created happened just because they are good? No! It is because they wanted it more than anyone else out there. They are determined to prove a point, not only to themselves but to the world. This all happens on and off the court. Working as a Team, having fun as a Team, and mainly being there for each other! If the determination is not there, neither would the streak.

Tiger Woods is another person that is determined. He strives to be the best in golf. How can you go so many years being the number one golfer in the world and yet decide to change your game? Obviously he is out to get even better! Yes, once you change something, you are not going to be great again until your brain and body get back to a point where it is all muscle memory. Tiger may have been struggling the last couple of years but so far this year he is out for vengeance. He is determined to get back to the top. Until he owns every record possible I don't think Tiger will ever be satisfied.

Back to bowling, it is just like any other sport in the world. You have to perfect your game inside and out. Making sure that your style is the easiest to repeat for yourself. Also understanding the things that you need to work on to get even better. If you are falling off your shot at the line, which direction are you falling? From there it would be working on your lean or balance arm and leg to correct your balance. Trust me, there is always something to work on to get even better at the game. The little things always matter the most. Being determined to be the best will go a long way in your work ethics.

Make sure that you are determined in anything that you do. Whether it is bowling or another sport, even a job for that matter, be the best you can be! Remember to enjoy the game of bowling and always Practice, Practice, Practice!
