- Description: The intent of the new Rising Star was to create a ball that works well on medium-light oil patterns for bowlers with different skill levels and styles. With the benchmark-type symmetrical core shape, the original Dark Star was the cornerstone of the Shield line in 2010, and the new Rising Star will fit the same parameters and perform even better. The Rising Star was designed to increase total hook as compared with the Dark Star, the Ultimate Vision hybrid coverstock is a must for this new release. It creates a smooth glide through the heads with ample bite on the dry boards without being over-sensitive. And with a 1500-grit polished finish, the new Rising Star is sure to raise the bar. A journey to the center of the ball will reveal the new Neutron core as the power source. The Neutron core's medium RG-medium differential shape is based on the concept started with the original Photon core utilized in the Dark Star. But you'll find an even lower RG and higher differential in the heavier weights. So look for more motion out of the Rising Star with all the benefits of a hybrid coverstock. As you rise to the top with this new Roto Grip release, you'll quickly see why it earned the name Rising Star!

Rising Star By SenorRotoGrip from Grafton, MA
Reviewed on: 2/21/2011
Verified Reviewer Pros:Attractive Design Best Uses:Medium to light oil, Tournaments, Local Bowling Alley Describe Yourself:Pro Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend The Rising Star matches the neutron core with the Ultimate Vision Hybrid coverstock found on the Rogue Cell. The cover is sanded to 1500 and machined polished. The medium Rg core (2.55) and med-low differential (.042) make the Rising Star a ball that can be used on a variety of ligt t medium oil conditions. I drilled mine with, box finish, pin above the fingers on my gripline, approximately 5" from my pap, Cg out, no hole. This layout allows me to get the ball down lane with a smooth arc finish at the pins. On a PBA experience, 40' Master's pattern, this ball really hooked off the friction on the newer AMF HPL surface. However, in the same house on a 42' house shot that had been bowled on by junior bowler's earlier, the Rising Star was excellent. The ball got down lane smoothly and reacted with a nice arc off the friction. Ball drive through the pins was excellent. I did see a little squirt if I got the ball into the oil rather than off the oil line and into the friction down lane. An excellent mid priced ball for middle average bowlers and for advanced bowlers looking to fill in their arsenal with a medium rg, medium-low differential ball. Was this review helpful to you? Verified Reviewer Pros:Great Weight, Comfortable Grip, Attractive Design Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Video Submitted by Reviewer:Customer Video (Great Ball) I received this ball yesterday. Have not thrown it in league yet but had it poked out today and threw 3 games with it. My average is 170 and I threw 179,198,231 out the box. It goes long and crushes the pocket when it breaks. The perfect compliment to my Mission 1. I would recommend it especially at this price. Was this review helpful to you? Yes / No- You may also flag this review.

Great Ball!!!!! By Hobbles from Indianapolis Indiana

Verified Reviewer Pros:Very consistant Cons:None Best Uses:Medium oil Describe Yourself:League Bowler Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend i carry a 200+ average in just about any house i bowl in. I bought this ball for conditions needing me to throw " Down and in " and it does just that. However, I was delightfully surprised to find that when the lanes begin to dry up, I can simply move left with this ball as needed and it still has the same smooth roll and wonderful drive to the pocket. I have to say that overall i was very impressed with this ball for the money. It just doesn't get any better then this. Was this review helpful to you? Yes / No- You may also flag this review.
