The original Gem is earlier and heavier through the front. The Magic Gem is the hybrid on the old Defiant core, cleaner than the original and more continuous, but still a MicroTrax ball. The Perfect Gem uses a new core and a new nano-free solid. Testers call it less early than the original, smoother than the Magic Gem off the spot, and stronger through the pins than either one once it's rolling.
