Ethos

The Brunswick Ethos is a great symmetrical bowling ball for transition during tournaments! It is very angular and clean through the front part of the lane. I have yet to change the surface of the bowling, but I am hearing this ball does very well with surface changes. I feel this ball is best used on medium to short patterns during transition.

COMMENTS

The Ethos is the successor to the popular Melee Jab Carbon. This one has HK22 which gives it a vibrant color and an even cleaner reaction. The Ethos is a little smoother, a little longer, and a few boards more than my Carbon. This ball will be usable for all styles on Medium to lighter conditions. I have found this one to be a good go to ball after the fresh condition has started to erode and I am moving left. If you are looking for length, predictable response, and value check out the Ethos.

Brunswick Ethos

The Ethos has great shelf appeal. It is clean and continuous ball motion. It really reacted well to surface adjustment.

The symmetric pearl that we have been waiting for!

The Brunswick Ethos is the favorite ball in my bag now. This is a ball that is strong enough to handle medium oil and cover boards, but clean enough to use when the lanes start to break down. Unlike some other balls that spark when you get it to the dry, this ball makes a strong controllable move to the pocket and through the deck. In tournaments, once the oil starts to burn up, I stand left and throw this ball to the friction and it gives me a great look on the breakdown. Overall, it is in the middle of total hook potential on my shiny bowling balls and a great versatile ball choice.

Perfect breakdown ball

Ethos is incredibly angular and a perfect ball down for breakdown on any pattern. The symmetrical core with the combination of HK22 pearl gives the ethos the absolute cleanest and most angular ball motion I’ve ever seen in a Brunswick ball. In addition to being very clean downlane I was very surprised at how well the Ethos took to surface changes. The Ethos was able to take more surface while maintaining downlane motion and control. It’s the perfect ball down from my Envy Tour Pearl and gives me a similar reaction with a cleaner reaction through the fronts.

Brunswick Ethos

Here is my take on the Brunswick Ethos that recently released several weeks ago. The Ethos features a lower RG/higher diff. symmetrical core wrapped by a pearl purple/sky/carbon pearl reactive cover with the widely used HK-22 base. Box finish is 1500 Siaair with factory compound. I drilled one with a 60 x 4 3/4 x 70 layout with box finish. I have tried the Ethos on fresh THS.

The manufacturer's intent was to create a ball that has an angular motion on medium to heavier volumes of oil. Notwithstanding the pin down layout, the Ethos is quick off the spot. My thinking is that I would probably add a touch of surface just to slow the reaction down a bit and get the ball started a little earlier on fresh. At box surface, I could see this ball in play on medium to lighter volumes of oil or perhaps even on broken down patterns where the bowler is looking to move back to the right with a cleaner ball. I, again, will be very interested to see what the Ethos looks like with a touch more surface on medium to a little higher volume of oil.

The Brunswick Ethos is readily available...please see your pro shop for more information.

Clean and smooth

This ball reminds me of the Melee line because of the coverstock. SH4.0 Pearl (Savvy Hook 4.0) with the HK22 additive, this ball is clean and smooth through the fronted and mids, and has a pop at the back end. Really really smooth ball in my opinion

The Ethos

The Ethos is the ball you want in your bag if you are a fan of the Jab line. With the Ethos you don’t get that early hook that carbon would give you. The Ethos gets thought the front of the lane and with the HK-22 pearl you get that strong motion to the pocket with enough energy to carry the corner pins.

Brunswick Ethos

Brunswick Ethos is the latest Symmetrical Pearl from Brunswick. First is the color, it is a beautiful bowling ball. Performance is fantastic as well. It is very quick and angular in shape. If you need to slow it down and smooth out the transition, it does react well to surface changes.

Great for late hook, getting down lane through friction.

Cons:

not for heavy oil

Best Uses:

oil, tournaments

Spiritual successor to the jab

This is an incredible replacement for the Jab line. HK22 makes everything better, and this is no exception. That flip block gives it better recovery and more continuation when the lanes get tough.
Would definitely recommend.

Question:

Does the echo work well with a low rev bowler

12/15/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Ethos is rated to read later on the lanes and work well in medium oil conditions. For a lower rev bowler you could potentially use this ball in more medium to lighter oil conditions and still see decent reaction.

Question:

Would this be a good ball after the phaze two?

4/11/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Ethos is designed to go longer on the lanes and will work better in medium oil conditions compared to the Phaze II but the Ethos is still going to have a pretty high hook potential in medium oil. You could transition to this after using the Phaze II or even substitute using this in place of the Phaze II at times if you need to play more of a down and in line in some heavier conditions.
