Hammer Maximum Effect
Hammer Maximum Effect
The Hammer Maximum Effect is the most aggressive and high-performance ball in the popular Effect line. Built for serious traction and control on medium to heavy oil conditions, this ball delivers the signature Effect motion you love—but turned up to the max.
For the first time, Hammer has paired their proven HK22 – Cohesion coverstock with Carbon Fiber Infused (CFI) technology, creating explosive hook potential and unparalleled durability. The aggressive 500/1500 grit finish bites into the lane, while the eye-catching four-color swirl design makes sure your game turns heads before you even throw your first shot.
This isn’t just the strongest Effect—it’s a new benchmark for power and performance. You asked for more teeth, more traction, more dominance.

What do bowlers say about the Hammer Maximum Effect?
First Ball Out of the Bag
Bowlers treat this as the ball you throw first on fresh, heavy oil. It doesn't disappoint there. It reads the oil, stays in play, and gives you a reason to leave the rest of the bag alone until the lanes open up.
This Ball Hooks
That's the line you keep seeing. It takes the top spot in a lot of bags. Bowlers say it hooks more, and sharper, than other big pieces they've thrown. If you want hook in a box, this is the one they're talking about.
It Still Hits Downlane
Some strong balls burn up at the friction and roll forward. Bowlers say this one stores energy a little longer. You get continuation through the pins instead of a flat 10. That hitting power is why they keep it in their hand.
The Strongest Effect Yet
People who've thrown the whole Effect line call this the strongest of the bunch. It's the one that completed the set for them. You get a strong, continuous shape and a lot of carry when the oil is heavy.
It Can Move the Needle Fast
One bowler shot 656 the first night and climbed from a 170 average to 190 after about 50 games. Others just call it the best ball in the bag. Fresh oil is where that jump shows up.
What's the Verdict?
Bowlers love the Hammer Maximum Effect. They call it a first-out powerhouse that hooks hard and still carries. If your lanes start wet and you want the biggest Effect in the line, this is the one to throw.

What customers say:
Bowlers give the Maximum Effect five stars and talk about hook, hitting power, and first-ball use on fresh oil. They call it the strongest Effect yet and say it stores energy better than a lot of other strong covers. The shared feel is simple: it's a beast on heavy oil, and it belongs at the top of the bag.

Hammer Maximum Effect
I have had a chance to give my take on the Hammer Maximum Effect. The Maximum Effect is a low RG/higher diff asymmetric core piece of equipment. The coverstock is HK-22 Cohesion Hybrid CFI colored in black/lime/silver/purple. Box finish is 1500 Siaair. I've drilled one with a 50 x 4 x 25 layout. I've tried it on 2025 PBA Scorpion, THS and another high volume 45 foot challenge pattern at box finish. The Maximum Effect, at box surface, is definitely a ball that will be best suited for fresh high volume patterns. It offers a slower response, more rounded shape which will be a perfect match, as I noted, on high volume fresh patterns. With my normal ball speed (or lack thereof), I see this ball in play on longer distance patterns. Perhaps higher speed players could throw the Maximum Effect on shorter patterns. On the THS, I had to get way inside to keep it in play and use lots of rotation to make sure the ball would go through the pins correctly. On the Scorpion and challenge patterns referenced above, the Maximum Effect showed better results based on the higher volumes of oil and longer distances. On fresh, I see many different styles of play being able to use with success the Maximum Effect. The Hammer Maximum Effect is readily available. See your pro shop for more information!

Hammer Maximum Effect
The Hammer Maximum Effect is a ball you want to use first out of the bag. It is designed for fresh & heavy oil and does not disappoint. Some strong cover balls will read the pattern early, use energy right at the point of friction and roll a bit forward. The Maximum Effect appears to store energy a little longer which means more hitting power down lane. The Huntsman core & this cover are a nice combo.

Strongest Effect Line Ball to Date!
I have had the privilege to throw every Hammer Effect ball in the line. The Hammer Effect and Effect Tour were my favorites in the line…..until now! The new Hammer Maximum Effect is something special! Out of the entire Effect Line, the Maximum Effect is by far the strongest overall. The Hammer Maximum took the proven Huntsman Core with the flip disk and wrapped it in the HK22 Cohesion Hybrid Cover with CFI (Carbon Fiber Infused) technology creating a ball shape and hitting power unmatched in hybrid bowling balls on the market today. The layout in the Maximum Effect is 60x4x35. Because of the strength of this ball, I wanted to ensure I had length and maximized the backend motion, providing very strong continuous ball motion through the pins with incredible hitting power. I absolutely love the Hammer Maximum Effect, and I am incredibly pleased with this ball. The Hammer Maximum Effect in my opinion completes the Effect line and provides bowlers at all levels versatility on oily conditions unlike any other ball in the market today! The Hammer Maximum Effect is available in your local pro shop!

Awesome ball
First and best ball in my bag. First night out with it shot a 656 series (I was a 170 average bowler at the time.) Bowled probably 50 games with it now, moving my average up to 190. Pairs very well with my game.
Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
Is this ball better than the Hammer Effect
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hi Marilyn, the Maximum Effect has more hook potential and is more aggressive in heavy oil compared to the original Effect.
Question:
Is this ball better than the hammer effect
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
I would not necessarily say this is better or worse. It will depend on which ball may be a better fit for the lanes or your style of bowling. This ball will have a much earlier read on the lanes than the original Hammer Effect which went later on the lanes. That will mean this ball will have a smoother arcing hook and it can handle a little more oil than the original Hammer Effect.
Question:
What does the ball do in not so much oil
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball is designed for heavier oil conditions only so if you used this in medium or lighter oil conditions, the ball will want to read stronger and earlier and this may be very hard to control on the lanes for that reason.
Question:
Is this the newest effect ball or is the full effect the newest ?
