Hammer Maximum Effect
Hammer Maximum Effect
The Hammer Maximum Effect is the most aggressive and high-performance ball in the popular Effect line. Built for serious traction and control on medium to heavy oil conditions, this ball delivers the signature Effect motion you love—but turned up to the max.
For the first time, Hammer has paired their proven HK22 – Cohesion coverstock with Carbon Fiber Infused (CFI) technology, creating explosive hook potential and unparalleled durability. The aggressive 500/1500 grit finish bites into the lane, while the eye-catching four-color swirl design makes sure your game turns heads before you even throw your first shot.
This isn’t just the strongest Effect—it’s a new benchmark for power and performance. You asked for more teeth, more traction, more dominance.

Hammer Maximum Effect
The Hammer Maximum Effect is a ball you want to use first out of the bag. It is designed for fresh & heavy oil and does not disappoint. Some strong cover balls will read the pattern early, use energy right at the point of friction and roll a bit forward. The Maximum Effect appears to store energy a little longer which means more hitting power down lane. The Huntsman core & this cover are a nice combo.

This ball Hooks!
It takes its spot as the biggest ball in my arsenal. More hook and sharper hook than the Brunswick Mesmerize.

Hammer Maximum Effect
I have had a chance to give my take on the Hammer Maximum Effect. The Maximum Effect is a low RG/higher diff asymmetric core piece of equipment. The coverstock is HK-22 Cohesion Hybrid CFI colored in black/lime/silver/purple. Box finish is 1500 Siaair. I've drilled one with a 50 x 4 x 25 layout. I've tried it on 2025 PBA Scorpion, THS and another high volume 45 foot challenge pattern at box finish. The Maximum Effect, at box surface, is definitely a ball that will be best suited for fresh high volume patterns. It offers a slower response, more rounded shape which will be a perfect match, as I noted, on high volume fresh patterns. With my normal ball speed (or lack thereof), I see this ball in play on longer distance patterns. Perhaps higher speed players could throw the Maximum Effect on shorter patterns. On the THS, I had to get way inside to keep it in play and use lots of rotation to make sure the ball would go through the pins correctly. On the Scorpion and challenge patterns referenced above, the Maximum Effect showed better results based on the higher volumes of oil and longer distances. On fresh, I see many different styles of play being able to use with success the Maximum Effect. The Hammer Maximum Effect is readily available. See your pro shop for more information!
Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
Is this ball better than the Hammer Effect
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hi Marilyn, the Maximum Effect has more hook potential and is more aggressive in heavy oil compared to the original Effect.
Question:
Is this ball better than the hammer effect
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
I would not necessarily say this is better or worse. It will depend on which ball may be a better fit for the lanes or your style of bowling. This ball will have a much earlier read on the lanes than the original Hammer Effect which went later on the lanes. That will mean this ball will have a smoother arcing hook and it can handle a little more oil than the original Hammer Effect.
Question:
What does the ball do in not so much oil
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball is designed for heavier oil conditions only so if you used this in medium or lighter oil conditions, the ball will want to read stronger and earlier and this may be very hard to control on the lanes for that reason.
