What does almost new supposed to mean ?

Answer:
The soles of most bowling shoes have a white slide sole on them. Sometimes when a customer tries on the shoes to see if they fit they end up getting the white soles slightly dirty. The shoes have not been used really or the pads would show much more signs of use but they are just slightly dirty on the bottom so we cannot sell them as new. So we sell them as almost new because of this reason.
