Storm Equinox Hybrid

Storm Equinox Hybrid The Storm EquinoX Hybrid is designed to be the ultimate usable big ball, combining the best qualities of its predecessors into one balanced, versatile package. The A2S Hybrid Coverstock blends solid and pearl components to provide reliable traction through the oil while maintaining the responsive backend motion Storm is known for. At the heart of the EquinoX Hybrid is the innovative Solarion Asymmetric Core. Its unique tri-cylindrical design promotes a quick revving, controlled read through the front and midlane while preserving plenty of energy for a powerful finish. The result is a balanced take on the classic skid-flip reaction—enough traction to prevent over-skidding, with plenty of pop downlane. For bowlers looking for a dependable big ball that offers control, versatility, and continuation, the Storm EquinoX Hybrid is ready to deliver.

What do bowlers say about the Storm Equinox Hybrid?

Best of Both Equinox Balls

Bowlers who threw the pearl and the solid say this hybrid sits in the middle. It reads sooner than the original Equinox. It stays calmer than the Equinox Solid. You get both worlds in one ball.

Smooth, Powerful, and Readable

The first bowling.com review is short and clear. Smooth. Powerful. Clean. Readable. Testers say the same thing. It clears the front, picks up in the midlane, and doesn't jump off the spot.

Stays With You After Game One

A lot of big balls die once the lanes open up. This one doesn't. Bowlers use it game one, game two, and even game three when the oil is still there. That's why they call it the most usable Equinox.

Strong Move You Can Still Control

Strokers loved the change of direction at the breakpoint. It hooks hard, then stays predictable on the dry. You can swing it out and get it back. Misses still carry instead of leaving weak hits.

A House-Shot Ball You Keep Reaching For

Bowlers say this is the Equinox they grab most. It works on medium house shots and through transition. If you want one strong Storm asym for league night, this is the piece they're leaving in the bag.

What's the Verdict?

Storm Equinox Hybrid Bowlers like the Equinox Hybrid because it fills the gap. It's cleaner than the solid, stronger than the pearl, and easy to stay with as the lanes change. If you want a big ball that doesn't take over, this is the one they're recommending.

What customers say:

Bowlers call the Equinox Hybrid smooth, powerful, clean, and readable. They say it blends the pearl and the solid, hooks hard without getting wild, and stays useful from game one through transition. Most would use it as their main Equinox on medium house shots.

Question:

does this ball react similar to the storm sur lock

9/3/2026 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The RG values of this ball in 15lbs match up to the same numbers as the 15lb Sure Lock so you do get similar performance from the weight block. However, the Equinox Hybrid will have a longer reaction due to the coverstock and finish out of the box and this extra length makes it more ideal for medium to heavy oil while the Sure Lock was only for heavy oil.
