Smell my ball

I was originally attracted to it by the design/color. The description and accuracy of it helped made me buy it. This ball is exactly as advertised! My average is 103, 4 games with my new ball... not anymore.

A lot of bang for the buck

Five stars for using it at the right time. Maybe not a fresh heavier oil ball, but if there’s a bit more friction or need to blend things out, works great for me. The out of box surface was super shiny (as advertised). Hit it with a 3000 pad, and now it really makes it easy to read, a very consistent and repeatable motion. Straight up 8-10 board area, and it just starts to pick up nicely midway toward the pocket. Goes thru the pins with authority, lots of power left and pretty good continuation and pin action for such a low diff ball. Simplifies everything if bigger other equipment is getting over/under. Don’t let the numbers mislead you…..This ball hooks plenty of boards, especially if you’re on a bit drier condition. Very easy to make it work using small speed adjustments. My new goto ball for 2nd or 3rd game in league. Highly recommend for any skill level, especially if on a drier house shot.

Pros:

On dry lanes was better than I thought it would be, great carry.

Cons:

No cons

Best Uses:

Medium to dry lanes, short oil patterns.

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

What a Ball

I saw other people throwing this ball, I like the pin carry. Two leagues I bowl on are wood lanes, thought maybe I could play straighter up the boards. Well I still have to swing 15 to 8 but not bad.

Question:

How does the black IQ compare to the emerald

11/3/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The IQ serials is listed in the upper mid performance line while the Tropical Surge is listed in the entry performance line. The IQ bowling balls will have a stronger hook potential and would be able to handle more oil on the lanes than the Tropical Surge line which is designed to work more in lighter conditions. There have been several IQ options over the years but a black and or emerald version has been discontinued. The IQ Tour Ruby would be the closest of the current IQ line to the Tropical Surge Pearl because both have great length on the lanes and give you a good backend hook but the Ruby would still be a stronger hooking ball.
