Motiv Pride
The Motiv Pride was designed to offer versatility and continuation making it the ideal benchmark bowling ball. This ball introduces the Dominion core which is an asymmetric core but has the controllability of a symmetric core. The core technology is surrounded by Coercion Ultimate Continuation Solid (UCS) Reactive coverstock. The cover on this ball helps produce more length and angles and is ideal on medium oil conditions.

Motiv Pride Review
The new Motiv Pride does everything you’d want with a benchmark ball. It’s very versatile and has amazing continuation. The Pride has brand new core(Dominion core) and cover stock. This Pride was designed to be the perfect benchmark piece and it’s exactly that! Unique from anything currently in the Motiv line. The Pride fits right into the medium oil/smooth position of the ball guide. I can see this ball being used on a lot of various oil patterns.

A new look from Motiv
The Pride is a different shape than what I have seen from the company in the past, late midlane revs with moderate continuation. Out of the box at 4000 the ball is very clean (drilled 65-5 3/8”-35) but when scuffed with a used 2000 pad it was closer to a benchmark type of reaction. I drilled a second 45-4 ¾”-75 to try and slow down the reaction time to get that “benchmark” motion I am desperately looking for, it helped but still not what I feel is a “benchmark” ball. I have played with different grit on the Cover but unable to get that super smooth controllable look without it going forward and being super responsive to friction. I truly enjoy the shape of the Pride and it has a place in my tournament bag. It’s a strong ball and being asymmetrical with moderate response to friction it’s a little touchy on patterns with very little tapper front to back. I feel the Pride is much stronger than advertised, mine is stronger than the Ghost, and Horizon when compared to other Asymmetrical pieces. I say that because it has a faster response to friction and forces me a little farther left than I would like to be on the fresh. With all that being said, after getting over pre conceived notions, I can’t put the ball down and is one of my favorites in Motiv’s current lineup.

The PRIDE is the best ball I’ve had in a very long time. It gets down lane w/plenty of energy left.
First ball out of the bag. It blasts the pocket even with a 13 # weight. Love it. Used in two tournaments in the past week.

Clean, Smooth, Continous, Versatile
Best Uses:
Medium Volume, All Lane Surfaces

The new standard for benchmark!
MOTIV has really knocked this one out of the park! The Pride gets down the lane so easily for me as a solid and it does not quit.
The new UCS cover does not burn up on higher friction surfaces allowing you to keep this ball in your hand for longer.
The new Dominion core provides a larger amount of drilling options to customize this ball to you as the bowler.
The ball as a whole has been fantastic and responds well to different hand position adjustments as well.
Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
Is this a good ball for a down and in bowling style?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
I would suggest looking for a ball with a pearl reactive coverstock and polished finish to give you a better down and in reaction. This ball may try to read a little earlier and make it hard to play down and in.

Question:
what ball to look at throw 8 mph ave. like to throw up 7-10 board med. to light
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball is rated for medium oil conditions but for your ball speed you may want to look at something that reacts a little later on the lanes. The solid cover on this and 4000 grit may cause this to start hooking a little early for you ball speed. You may prefer something like the Fatal Venom or the Supra Enzo from Motiv.

Question:
Looking to fill a spot between my jackal ghost and my iron forge would this be a good ball and if not what would be
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
There is not a very large gap between the Jackal Ghost and the Iron Forge by the numbers. The Pride will read earlier than the Iron Forge but a little later than the Jackal Ghost. The Pride is also closer to the Iron Forge in overall hook potential but just gives you an earlier read. So it could be a good fit between the two if you are needing something to help you transition from the earlier reacting Ghost to the late reacting Iron Forge.
