Motiv Alpha Jackal

Be an Alpha on the lanes with Motiv's high performance Alpha Jackal bowling ball. This ball exceeds expectations by producing more hook but with control and crushing continuation. This ball is an updated version of what it's predecessors offered. This ball has a stronger solid reactive coverstock in the Coercion HV3 than any other Jackal to date. The core in the Alpha Jackal is the Predator V2 asymmetric weight block which maximizes revs as well as track flare through the low RG and high differential. This ball matches up well with bowlers that want traction on heavily oiled lanes or longer oil patterns.

The Motiv Alpha Jackal would react a bit earlier than the Motiv Trident Abyss, but both balls have a high flare potential.

Here are the different drilling layouts for an asymmetric drilling for this ball. You may need to check with your local driller to see what pin to request so you may get the layout you would like the most. https://b2b.motivbowling.com/userfiles/filemanager/609/

Question:

How would this ball function on a THS condition ?

1/6/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball is designed to work in heavy oil only. You may be able to use this ball some at the beginning of the night but you may quickly have to transition to another ball to use because it could get too strong as the lane conditions start to dry and get more medium oil.

Question:

How well does ball do on dryer lanes

1/9/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This would not be a good ball to use in drier conditions. It is designed to work in heavier oil conditions only. This would react too early and too strong on drier lanes.

Question:

How does this ball compare the storm physics

1/10/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

These are going to be pretty close but the Motiv Alpha Jackal is going to have just a little stronger hook potential. The duller finish and solid cover of the Alpha Jackal will give it an edge to start hooking just a little earlier on the lanes and this makes it strictly for heavier oil while the Storm Physix may be a little more versatile to go down into some medium oil conditions.

Question:

Would this be a good compliment to the Columbia 300 cahos?

1/12/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This would be a good step up from the Chaos in terms of hook potential so if you feel like you needed something a little stronger on certain conditions then you could start the night with the Alpha Jackal and then change to the Chaos when the lanes start to break down a little.

1/18/2020 - By

When the Jackal first came out there was an issue and Motiv replaced those Jackals for the customers that had purchased them. Since then, all new Motiv Jackals are made within the legal requirements and have had no issues for tournaments or league play.

They are going to be very comparable and you may not be able to see the differences. The weight block on the Alpha reads a little earlier but all the other features are almost identical.

Question:

I throw the black widow now just started throwing a hook ball doesn’t hook as much as I would like would the jackal ghost hook more

3/13/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Alpha Jackal and Jackal Ghost are both considered high performance bowling balls for heavy oil only while the Widow 2.0 is an upper mid performance ball for medium to heavy oil so the Motiv Jackals should have a stronger hook potential.

Question:

I have just got the motiv ghost and the legacy. Would this ball work with those?

3/23/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you have both the Ghost and Legacy then I do not see where you would have a need for the Alpha Jackal too. It would fit right between the other two options but there is not a big enough gap there for you to need another heavy oil option like this.
