He took home the trophy three times on the PBA tour this year one of which was the Elite Players Championship.  Jason Belmonte has to wait to here how this years votes are counted by the PBA membership to see whether or not he is the 2011-12 PBA Player of the Year.  Not only did he pick up his three titles he made nine shows, finished in the top-five seven times, bowled a nationally televised 300 game just to name a few things that Belmonte did this season.

On top of the PBA stats, that are phenomenal by the way, he competed against world competition in the World Cup and he shot another 300 game in the the Thailand Open.

Belmonte who bowls for Storm had this to say about this past season"Its up to the PBA members to decide on who was the best bowler of the year."  Belmonte also said, "I gave myself the best possible chance of winning the award with my efforts this season. Player of the Year is about winning and making TV. I won the most. I made the most shows. I was in contention every week, especially the majors. I am so proud of the hard work I've put into my game and to see those results come through because of that work is very rewarding, especially because of the sacrifices I've had to make this season. I'm so happy to achieve and do what I did."

Only time will tell whether or not Belmonte will win this year's Player of the Year honors, but if it were up to us at bowling.com Belmonte would get the nod.
