Hammer is calling it what it is... a legend. The Black Widow Legend takes the proven history of the Black Widow line and turns it up a notch. Question:
Is this ball recommended for left handed bowlers?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hi Jason. If you need this ball for a left handed bowler, you will need to find out the correct specifications from your driller in order to have a left handed ball shipped out to you. Most of the time, left handed bowlers request the mass bias to the left of the center of gravity of the ball.

Question:
What is pin top weight
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
A Pin can be out or in. A drilling term that is relative to a bowler's track designed purposely for creating more ball dynamics. A Pin-in ball (when the pin is located within two inches of the Center of Gravity) is excellent choice for control and less hook; a Pin-out ball usually can be made to hook more and flip more dramatically than pin-in balls; they often give the driller more options. The top weight is the drilling of a ball so that there is more weight above the label than there is below; it is considered a positive weight.

what's the difference between the black widow legend and the legend x-out?
Have an answer to this question?

There will be no difference in performance. There will be just an irregular pin/top weight, or it could have an irregular overall weight or it could have a slight surface blemish. All X-Outs are USBC approved.

Question:
Is this a right handed ball
Have an answer to this question?
Question:
I am an intermediate straight bowler looking to learn to hook more (weak hook). I am right handed. I do not know what pin hight or weight to order. Looking at a 14lb ball what pin height and weight would you recommend to help add a lot of hook, but still maintain good control?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The longer the pin that you request, the more hook you will get out of the ball, the shorter the pin you request, the more control you will have over the ball. If you have questions about the pin distance, that would be a better question to ask your driller.

Is this a good ball to learn hooking with I am 59 years old and allways rolled a strait ball
Have an answer to this question?

You may want to look into an entry level or a mid performance ball. The Hammer Black Widow Legend is an upper mid performance and it might be too much ball for you when you are just learning to throw a hook.

Im a 2 handed bowler with a high rev rate will this ball hook too eairly down the lane? When will the ball hook down lane
Have an answer to this question?
Question:
What does pin top weight mean?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Those are specifications that you can request for your ball. If you have a longer pin, you will have more hooking power, and a shorter pin will give you more control over the ball.

Question:
Is this ball better than the Smokin Inferno. I'm a 175 avg Left Handed
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball will be stronger than the Smokin Inferno. They have similar reactions because both were designed to go down the lane with a good strong backend hook but with the newer technology on the balls today it would be a little stronger than the Smokin Inferno.

Question:
I'm use to standing on the middle arrow, and throwing it at the second arrow on the right. would this ball give me too much of a hook?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
If you are using this ball in the correct lane conditions ( medium to heavy oil ) then you should be able to get this to work based on where you stand and aim. You may let the driller know also so they can drill the ball to match your bowling style and that will help give you the best reaction.

We have several of these in stock but we cannot see all of the specs available for each ball unfortunately. We would have to place the order first and you can list the specs on the order when you order. If we have the specs we will ship this out. If we do not have the specs we will call you to go over the specs and you may proceed or cancel at that time.

Question:
Im a beginner straight Bowler, but I am learning how to curve. Would this be a good ball? What pin placement should I order?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This would be a pretty strong ball to start out with. We have some bowling balls rated as entry performance for people starting out learning how to curve the ball. This is more advanced and stronger so it works in medium to heavy oil if that is the lane conditions you need the ball to work in. Pin placements are something you can talk to your proshop about because this will determine the drilling pattern.

Question:
Is this ball design to go long and break hard backend
Have an answer to this question?
Question:
I throw the rhino blk/red..design to go long and break in...would this be a good ball to add...i throw about medium speed
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This is going to be a good option to start with for when the lanes are medium to heavier oil. This ball goes long and has a strong backend hook so if you start the night with this ball it will work well. Then as the night goes on and the lanes start drying out you can then move back to your Rhino on the last game to work when it was drier.

Question:
All of the Black Widows I have purchased have a 3 3/8 inch distance from the pin to the PAP. I understand this distance can go from O to 6 inches. I do not see this item when ordering. How do I order a ball with this spec since other distances are not what I want
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Just below the weight selection box there will be a link that says Click to request pin/top weight. This will open a box where you can type in the pin placement you want. When the order is placed our warehouse will check for a ball that matches your request. If we have the specs you wanted, it will ship out. If we do not have them we will call you to go over what we found.

Question:
I'm 60 throwing a 16# ball with a slight break at the end. Wanting for more hook. Looking at the BW Legend? Would you recommend this ball and what weight?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
If you are still comfortable throwing 16lbs then that would give you better carry through the pins. But if you needed to drop in weight you would want to go with the heaviest option that you can comfortably throw. The BW Legend is going to have a good backend hook potential and works in medium to heavier oil conditions so if you wanted more backend hook this would be a good option.
