You need this in your bag!

The new DV8 Vandal offers an all new, low RG, asymmetric core, paired with the new Composite Pearl coverstock. This new ball offers a ball motion that I haven't seen in a while. It is a ball motion that everyone wants and should have in their bag. Finished at 500/Royal Compound, you get a ball that will clear the heads well but rev up and have the perfect amount of midlane read and continuation. I drilled my Vandal 35x5x35 with no hole. I was eager to see this ball roll and decided to try it during our final weeks of summer sport league. I have used the Vandal on 2 different oil patterns; 43ft heavier volume THS and 40ft US Open.

U.S. Open pattern- On the fresh, the Vandal wasn't quite the look. I started with a Diva Divine, pin down and sanded to 1000 Siaair. As the block went on, the Divine started to hang corners due to the rough surface, and I needed to open up the lane. The Vandal was the perfect choice. I'm sure cover stock adjustments would allow me to use the Vandal right off the bat, but with how fantastic the ball motion was at stock surface, why mess with such a good thing? The Vandal allowed me to stay confident and relaxed on the demanding pattern.

43ft THS- On this pattern, the Vandal was able to shine from start to finish. I was able to attack from multiple angles and split the 8-9 with ease. The Vandal will allow you to exploit the free hook to the outside and not squirt in oil. The new Composite Pearl cover is consistent from shot to shot, which allows you to keep it out of the bag and in your hands longer.

The new Vandal is going to be a big release for DV8. The way it seems to hold and read the lane is something special. It's hard to explain. Others have said it in their reviews, and they are spot on with it. The Vandal seems to be reading the lane as soon as you release it. It's strong, forgiving and consistent.

I'm buying another soon.

The best thing about this ball is that this motion is not in the DV8 line with any other ball, and It's incredible. The two best things about the Vandal are its carry and consistency. I've bowled with this on a variety of conditions, and rarely have I run across a condition where it did't carry well. It is extremely continuous through the pins and makes a really nice hard turn off the breakpoint. If you throw the Vandal well, you will bowl big scores.

DV8 Vandal

The DV8 Vandal is new territory for the DV8 brand. It has a brand new assymetric cover with a composite pearl coverstock. This combination gives a most bowlers a benchmark-type ball reaction right out of the box. On fresh conditions I see this ball giving me great length with a strong arc motion going through the pocket. It is a ball reaction I didn't have in my bag before. I laid my Vandal out with the pin above the middle finger by about 1 ¾ inch. The cg is udner my ring finger and the mass bias point is right on the right edge of my thumb. This layout gives me a great deal of length and a later mid-lane read, while saving a bunch of energy for the backend roll. It's very hard to make this ball quit, which is something I find very promising in an asymmetric bowling ball. This is the first ball out of my bag on lanes with a little transition (breakdown) or those with backends that aren't as crisp.

DV8 Vandal

If you only can buy one ball this year, this is the one you MUST have in your bag. This ball is nothing short of amazing. It gets down the lane so cleanly, then when it clears the friction makes an immediate left hand turn. It is incredibly angular. My only advice is give this ball so room to allow it to showcase how amazing it is. This ball is excellent on medium to light oil conditions, it will allow you to have some miss area and you will be impressed with its ability to recovery! It hits will great angular velocity and I couldn't imagine bowling without it.

I drilled my Vandal 70 x 5 x 35. This kept the pin up which I think makes sense with the natural characteristics of the ball; especially with its cover and core combination.

This ball will exceed your expectations

I drilled this ball up to combat a very tough and poor conditioned league house shot, I needed a ball with length, The Vandal delivers in a big way, this ball makes the transition to hook then roll and well as anything I own. I am a low to med rev bowler who is always looking for that extra backend kick and this ball delivers. I have sold several others based on my performance with this ball, we have just completed our local City Bowling Tournament and the bowler who won singles handicap and scratch and all events in both just drilled up a Vandal the day before the tournament, he has become a testament for this ball. It is an unbelievably powerful ball that can complement most bowlers game.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR....GO GET THIS BALL

This ball is awesome. The Vandal uses an asymmetrical core with a composite pearl cover finished with a 500 Saair MicroPad and Royal Compound.

This ball was drilled 55 x 3 3/4 x 30 with no weight hole. My goal was to produce a sharper reaction with a more angular break point to be used on you typical house patterns.

The reaction I got from this ball was clean thru the fronts, with an aggressive but controllable transition off the spot down lane. THIS BALL HITS LIKE A TRUCK!!! If I wanted to play straighter, all I had to do is change the cover, which was really easy and the reaction I got was amazing. This ball is a definite winner and would be another great addition to an already strong arsenal.

DV8's Best Asymmetric Ball to Date

Bowler Stats:
Speed: 18-19mph
Rev Rate: 400-450rpm
Axis Rotation: Medium
Axis Tilt: Low
Ball Layout: 45 by 5" by 50 with P2 hole
The Vandal reminds me a lot of what I first saw in the Wicked Siege and the Aura (two of my favorite asymmetricals of all time), only a bit stronger downlane. Just a touch of midlane read to control the overall reaction before cutting loose on the backends. While I've had success with DV8 asymmetrics in the past, the Vandal is in a class all its own. Between the new Vandal core and the new composite pearl coverstock, DV8 really concocted something special. Within the first 10 days of throwing it I've had a 300 in tournament play, an 810 in league, and also went 259-279 the last two qualifying games to make a regional cut on Scorpion. The only DV8 ball that really comes close enough to compare would be the old Hell Raiser Terror (which received a bunch of praise). For most bowlers, I could easily see this being the first ball out of the bag in league play. Mine is absolutely a house shot killer. With my low tilt and only medium axis rotation, I obviously prefer playing a little straighter than others with the same speed and rev rate. However it is very easy for me to still carry the corner pins even when moving past 4th arrow with the Vandal. While this ball is a must for the next league season, I believe that many players would match up with this ball on medium to longer sport patterns as some friction is created. Without a doubt I can say that if you've been looking at trying DV8, this is absolutely the first ball to try. If you're a long-time DV8 fan, the Vandal will give you a look that you've never seen before.

DV8 Vandal

Layout:::: 45 X 4. 1/2 X 30
Box Surface
Rev Rate ::: 350
Ball speed:::: 16 mph
Condition:::::40 ft. House shot

I had to use my DV8 Vandal on my 40 foot house shot. The Vandal with it's new composite coverstock technology doesn't dissapoint . The Vandal for me starts reving right off my hand and as it approaches the midlane gets in to a roll. Off the friction at the break point it makes that strong move that does not quit . I was playing 12 to 5 with this ball and was very impressed

I proceeded to move deeper on the lane. The line I then played was 16- 10 and was even more impressed with this ball. The Vandal this deep didn't loose any of it's movement when I went inside out route. Very very smmoth through the heads , gets into a nice heavy roll for me and them I watch it split the 8-9.
The Vandal is a very very versatile ball and I strongly recommend putting this ball in your bag.

Most versatile ball from DV8 to date!!

I couldn't believe how smooth but yet consistent reaction the Vandal gave me when I first threw it!! With this ball, I am able to get the ball to my breakpoint with ease and in the transition I am able to stay in the dry longer to outlast the breakdown. First night in league with this ball I shot 247 300 300 for a 847 series!! This ball never gave up on the lanes!!!

Vandal Benchmark Ball

My name is Doug Cutler and I am on DV8 Regional Staffer. This is my second post on the Vandal and all I can say is WOW what a Fantastic Ball. I will probably drill up 2 more of these balls. I have my ball drilled with the Pin just above my ring finger and the CG kicked out just a little. The surface on the ball I just hit it with a light 4,000 Abralon Pad. I have had so many complements on this ball on the ball motion and hitting power. Right out of the box, you can smell the difference. Exactly what is that smell? Absolute success! The Vandal is the ball that will stand against all other companies tried and true skid/flip option. The strength of the Vandal is what surprised me the most. I don't usually expect an "all purpose" ball to be able to handle a significant amount of oil. But the Vandal handled just as much oil as my Thug Corrupt. I can't believe I would ever describe an asymmetric ball as a "benchmark" ball, but that is what the Vandal is. It is going to give you a great read of the lane, on many different patterns, and gives a smooth, controllable, strong motion that is great for seeing the lane. If you don't have a Vandal yet in your bag, you really need to get one, and I promise you will not be disappointed! So get to your Local Pro Shop and Purchase a Vandal Today!! #dv8vandal #dv8bowling #tonightwebowl

The Vandal features a new composite pearl coverstock. This ball is made to give you versatility on all types of oil patterns and lane surfaces. If you are looking for a ball to give you a big bang for your dollar then this is the ball! The asymmetric core should give you great length through the heads and mid-lane followed by flip on the backend.

Vandal

I have thrown my Vandal for about 3 weeks now. I drilled it with the pin above my ring finger. The ball gets down the lane clean and just explodes on the back end. I did hit mine with a used 3000 pad to make it a little smoother off the spot. The Vandal is a great ball when you have to get left and open up the lane. I must say I love this ball!

Clean through the fronts with a strong backend rolling motio

DRILL PATTERN

Dual Angle Layout: 70 x 5" x 40
X Hole (if there is one): P2

BOWLER STYLE

Rev Rate: Higher, between 370 and 410 rpm, aka Cranker
Ball Speed: 16.50 mph
PAP/Track: 5 3/8" over and 7/8" up with a high track

SURFACE PREP

Grit: Box - 500, Royal Compound
Type: (Matte, Polish, Sanded): Polished

BALL REACTION

Length: 8 / 10
Back End: 8 / 10
Overall Hook: 8 / 10
Midlane Read: 7 / 10
Breakpoint Shape: Clean through the fronts with a strong backend motion

The DV8 Vandal uses the composite coverstock technology with a pearl formulation. The Vandal has a very clean motion through the front with a strong backend continuation. I have used this on multiple patterns, and usually go to it when the fronts start too hook too much and and I need a ball that will not read the front part of the lane. I can also use it to stand left and throw it to the friction but not get that hockey stick reaction but more of a strong roll to the pocket. It is very versatile and will work on medium to oily conditions. It will be a little weaker compared to the Thug series balls and have a smoother overall reaction. Like the other DV8 balls, it takes well to surface changes if you need to to handle more oil or smooth out the reaction. If you are looking for a versatile, smooth rolling pearl asymmetrical ball, then the Vandal is it!

This ball needs to be in your bag!!

Recently drilled 2 vandals , typical pin up layout , and one with a axis drilling . I feel I can drill 6 of these and carry them to every tournament I take part in. I can easily switch from the pin up layout to the axis layout , gives me an amazing one two punch. I may have written a review on this ball in the past, but this ball is good enough that I would write a review on it weekly haha.

Vandalize the Rack!

The Vandal has the Vandal asymmetric core wrapped with the new composite coverstock. It gives you more overall hook without dying in the heads. That ball reads the mids like an asym ball and has backend like a symmetric ball. It's pretty amazing to see it how it rolls.

Yes, I know. That ball came out worldwide last summer. It is maybe late for a review but I drilled that beast about a month and a half ago. Seriously, I don't know what I was missing until I threw it. The layout: 50x5x30. The results…….WOWWW!! That ball covers same amount of boards as my Ultimate Nirvana but with a lot more backend. That ball just seemed to bite to the lanes and turn the corner. Just to gives you an idea, I bowl a tournament 3 weeks ago. The pattern was so beaten up after 2 and an half game, I took my Vandal out (bowling with my Danger Zone before) and move left 8 and 5 (now playin' 5th arrow). For a game and a half remaining, the more left I was going, the more that ball was coming back. It amaze me that a ball that strong, was coming back even in that part of the lane. I can assure you one thing, that ball will be not coming out of my arsenal soon.

I think everyone needs a Vandal in their arsenal. PERIOD! Tonight We Bowl!

Perfect all around ball

I have drilled 2 of these great balls. My PAP is 4 1/2 over x 7/8 up. One is drilled 50x4 7/8x35 and the other is 45x3 1/8x40. The first one is very clean through the heads and midlane with a strong backend. I love this ball on THS patterns. The second ball hooks about 3-4 feet sooner but is a little more controllable on the backend. I love this ball more on sport patterns than THS.

This ball recovers off the spot like nothing's I've thrown before. You can miss right and don't need to worry about a 2-8-10 or wash out because his ball will get back. The first week I had his ball I threw it in a tournament and qualified 5th then went on to shoot 234, 298, 255 in match play.. What else do I need to say? Get yourself a vandal!

Question: how does Vandal compair to crux pearl?

3/4/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: The Storm Crux Pearl will be stronger than the DV8 Vandal. The Crux Pearl is a high-performance ball that is best on medium-heavy oil. The Vandal is an upper mid-performance ball made for any type of oil conditions.

5/13/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: Hello Robcyn! The DV8 Grudge would be about the closest that DV8 makes to the Crux. It will start hooking earlier on the lane and will have an aggressive, continuous hook. It will, however, be more aggressive than the Crux overall.
