For the Hammer Arson High Flare the research and development team modified the Arson core to create the Arson 2 core. In doing this they increased the differential which gives the ball more flare potential. They then covered the ball in their Max-Hook Pearl coverstock. This bowling ball is Carbon Fiber Infused! Carbon fiber is one of the toughest materials on earth. Hammer decided to add this material to the inner core of this ball for added strength and durability allowing them to offer an incredible 3 year warranty.
Here is my take on the new Arson High Flare by Hammer. The Arson High Flare features the Max-Hook Pearl coverstock with a modified Arson core to increase the differential in the ball. The High Flare comes with the carbon fiber core and industry leading 3 year warranty. The color the ball is bright yellow and red…highly visible across the house. I drilled mine with a 55 x 5 x 30 with a weight hole on the PAP…the same layout I used in an Arson Low Flare Solid. I have tried the High Flare on THS, Stockholm and Mexico City patterns and have thrown the ball at box surface and dusted with a 3000 Abralon pad to lightly take off a little shine.
The High Flare, in my opinion, is unlike any other ball in the "Arson Flare" series by Hammer. Compared to the Low Flare Solid, I was easily about 8-10 boards further left with the High Flare. The Low Flare Solid is a very smooth and controlled reaction…the High Flare offers a much stronger midlane and backend read. I feel the High Flare's strong suit will be longer patterns or patterns where steeper launch angles through the front are required. Like with most balls manufactured with the carbon fiber process, the hitting power and carry is excellent. I preferred the ball lightly dusted with 3000 Abralon but I believe depending on oil volume, the ball can be effectively at box surface or with more aggressive surfaces should the pattern dictate. This ball should suit many different style of bowlers.
This ball will be released very soon…see your local proshop about the new Arson High Flare by Hammer!
BALL LAYOUT: 75 x 4 1/2 x 65
The new Arson High Flare featuring a revised version (Higher RG) of the Arson core. With the pearlized cover stock, this ball gets down the lane really clean and unleashes a BIG backend motion through the pin decks. This BIG backend motion from the Arson High Flare compliments the Hammer line up when the lanes break down a little bit and when you need more backend angle down the lane.
Dislikes: For me, this ball was too over/under for the fresh patterns, but really excels when during the transition & when you need to move in and open up the lane. You can keep moving in on this ball when using it on the drier patterns. Therefore, I would recommend it for the medium to medium lighter patterns.
With the new 3 year warrantee that Hammer provides for this ball, this is the BEST bang for your buck!
This is one of my favorite balls from Hammer in 2015 & I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that looking for a symmetrical ball to open up a lane when the lanes have broken down a bit.
This ball has a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!
goes very long then left turn clyde!!!!!!!
BALL WEIGHT: 14#
REV RATE: 435
BALL SPEED: 17.5
DUAL ANGLE LAYOUT: 60 x 5 x 35
PATTERN TYPE: THS
BALL SURFACE: FACTORY
LIKES: Great colors, good length with strong backend. Lots of hook for price.
I REALLY LOVE THE NEW COLORS AND THE MODIFICATION TO THE CORE TO GIVE IT A HIGHER DIFF FROM .045 TO .054 AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS MORE HOOK DOWN LANE. THIS IS THE FIRST SKID/FLIP BALL RELEASED IN OUR ARSON LINE. THIS BALL I COULD THROW FOR ALL 3 GAMES IN LEAGUE AND JUST MIGRATING AND IT NO PROBLEM RECOVERING ANF GETTING THE CORNERS CONSISTANTLY. I ALSO THREW THIS ON MEDIUM SPORT PATTERN AND WAS EQUALLY IMPRESSED. THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW BALLS THAT I DIDN'T KNOCK OF THE POLISH, IT WAS GREAT OUT OF THE BOX!! FOR BEING A PEARL IT PICKED UP THE MIDLANE WELL WITH PLENTY OF POP LEFT IN THE BALL.
