Versatile Ball from Columbia 300

BALL LAYOUT: 70 x 4 1/4 x 25

So far, I am impressed with the C300 Impulse. New core / cover combo along with the Hypershock technology from the upper performance line, the Impulse is a little stronger than advertised. I drilled this ball to be long and smooth off the spot, yet this ball is quite angular still with this layout. Very clean through the fronts and offers a strong backend finish that is PERFECT for the transition games in tournament or after THS breaks down. I have had a few different styles of bowlers throw my Impulse and each style loved the way this ball gets down the lane with ease and offers a strong backend motion that does not stop. I could keep moving left as the lanes dried out and this ball keeps turning the corner. This is a different motion than what most Columbia 300 balls have and I think this is a great ball for the medium lane patterns. The hybrid coverstock, really blends the pattern out for this ball and offers a strong backend motion that I think a lot of bowlers will definitely love to see / have in their bag.

I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that are looking for something offers a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!

C300 Impulse

The Columbia 300 Impulse has a 10/18/16 release. It is the newest addition to the Orangeline Collection (upper mid performance). This is also C300's first attempt and the Hypershock Technology in the Orangeline Collection, originally just in the Redline Collection (high performance). I see this as a great benchmark bowling ball, great in various situations, and a very key addition to the C300 line. Color combo, logo, and performance should put the Impulse among the top of every bowler's priority list.

65 X 4 3/8 X 40

This ball, for me has been best to use in transition, when you need to blend out the dry. It is very predictable, you know what to expect after you have released it. This ball hits very well, the addition of the Hypershock technology into this ball was definitely a good idea.

Super!

a strong shiny ball for medium-heavy. Revs up in the midlane and snaps in the back. A shiny ball that wont push thru the break point. Very impressed with this release.

A must ball for those facing various lane conditions.

The C300 Impulse has become my benchmark/go to ball. It is really clean through the front of the lanes which permits me to better read the backends. There is definitely no quit with this ball as those errand shots we all have now and again recover nicely. The impulse comes polished which is another plus in my opinion. With the shiny hybrid cover and the symmetric core, you will find that this ball will need to be in your bag.

A Pulse on steroids

I was really hoping to see the days of the old Pulse with this piece. If any of you had the opportunity to roll the original one it was an even rolling and continuous bowling ball. This is a Pulse on steroids.
This ball has quite a bit of backend reaction. For me, this is an end of game 2 beginning of game 3 ball in factory finish. I need something to read the mid lane a little better on the fresh. Bowlers shouldn't have any fear about moving in with this ball. Send it wide with confidence and watch it come back.

Great ball at a great price!

Took me a few games to get used to this ball. Didn't think it was supposed to hook as much as it does for me. Reads the middle really well with an explosive backend. I learned I really need to be left with this ball and give it some room. Super clean through the front part of the lane! Works well on most conditions!

Bottom Line:

This ball is a must have

The impulse is my opinion is one of the best kept secrets out there right now. This ball just simply rolls good. It works on many different lane patterns. Probably works best on medium volume lane conditions. But, it doesn't mean it wont work on heavier volumes or even drier conditions. Very true rolling, predictable ball motion. A must have for any bowler!

Question: Can you tell me how this ball would compare to the charistics of the Columbia "Burst"?

12/29/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: Hello Jim. The Columbia Burst is a solid coverstock and the Impulse is a hybrid. They will have a different performance all together. The Impulse is an Upper-Mid Performance ball so it will be more aggressive than the Burst.
