Balls with Same Hook Potential, Lane Conditions and Coverstock as the Storm Match Pearl:

Storm Match Pearl

The Storm Match Pearl is a go to ball when you don't need a high performance ball with tons of technology and reaction. The medium RG and flare potential of the Stinger Core allow this ball to work with a variety of styles. If you are looking to control your roll pattern and your ball reaction then this core shape will help. The Reactor Pearl Reactive coverstock has been on Storm bowling balls for over 10 years and has proven itself again and again. The coverstock formula on this ball provides durability and backend reaction. This ball may just be a Match made in heaven (or Utah).

Question:

What does the notation about 12 and 13 lb. balls mean? No curve potential?

6/13/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hi Bob, the notation means that the core is different, and it is likely going to hook less than the 14-16lbs.

Question:

How does the match pearl ball work on sports shots

7/4/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hello! It really just depends on how much oil is on the lanes and, even more, on how you bowl. If you would like, you can give us a call and someone here can help you find the right ball for you.

Question:

Is the match pearl a ball that can be used for crankers on dry lanes

7/11/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hello Nick! It is difficult to make blanket yes or no answers to things like this. It's going to depend on how you bowl and what you want to see the ball do exactly. In general, the ball is meant to handle dry-medium conditions, so for straight dry conditions and because you're a cranker, this ball might be a touch too strong.

You might want to try something like the Storm Joy Ride or maybe even venture into the Storm Tropical line.

Answer:

I bowl pretty much the same and the Tropical Storm works great for length and backend.

Answer:

For length and backend (not much) and on dry condition, I use Tropical Breeze. I bowl 200+ games with this ball for 3rd games. My most recent is a 234.

Question:

I am a straight down and in bowler, and looking for a strong back-end ball. Do you prefer the match pearl over tne match or does it matter

8/4/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hello Al Rob! The Match Pearl should go longer and break later than the Match, so I would tend to lean towards that one for you.

Question:

How is the Match Pearl all that different from the IQ Tour Pearl? Same 1500 finish. The RG and Diffs are very very close, and the lighter Match balls appear to use the same core as the older IQ Tour Pearl. So if I had a Match drilled the same as my IQ TP, how would it be better/worse?

8/22/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Great question! The coverstock on the Match Pearl will be significantly less aggressive than the IQ Tour Pearl. So the Match Pearl would hook a good bit less than the IQ Tour Pearl.

Question:

Thanks for the quick answer. Looks like the Match is not the ball I'm looking for. Suggestions? I want a ball that performs like the IQ Tour Pearl, only more. I guess I just don't have much hand; my IQ TP slides nicely, and then mostly just flairs to the inside while rolling straight, never actually turning the corner. What to do? Get a Storm 30 (the new IQ) and use an extreme drilling pattern, or is there a ball out there like an IQ TP on mega-steroids?

8/22/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

I would recommend the Storm IQ Tour 30 as the closest replacement for the IQ Tour Pearl. If you're looking for something that goes long and breaks late, but is more aggressive, I would probably say to go with the Storm Snap Lock.

Question:

I'm looking for a weaker ball than sky rocket. Would you recommend match or tropical line?

2/7/2017 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hello! If you are looking for a weaker ball than the Sky Rocket, we recommend the Tropical Line. The Storm Match Pearl will be very similar to the Sky Rocket.
