Hammer Fierce Phobia - Stronger than the original
Was so happy to see a solid version of the Phobia. The Fierce Phobia is much more stronger and earlier in the lane than the Phobia but still has a great amount of continuation for being much more aggressive. Definitely fills the 1-2 punch that was missing in that line.

Strong Benchmark Ball from Hammer
BALL LAYOUT: 80 x 5 x 60
After loving the original Phobia from last year, I was super excited to drill the Fierce Phobia which is drilled similar to my original Phobia. With the stronger Semtex Hybrid coverstock, the Fierce gets into a roll earlier, yet still offers the same strong downlane motion needed to turn the corner when moving left. I am able to use this ball more on fresh lane patterns and yet still move in as the pattern breaks down a little bit. For me the Fierce Phobia is my medium-heavier lane pattern ball that will be 1st out of my bag on various lane patterns that I bowl on in tournaments. The Fierce Phobia is about 4-5 boards stronger overall than the Diesel and stores up more energy down the lane. This ball will be a great addition to my styles of bowlers
I really like what I see in this new release from Hammer and I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that are looking for something that offers a great motion to have a strong rolling symmetrical ball in your bag. - it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball... You will be impressed!
With the standard 3 year warrantee that Hammer provides for their balls, this is another added value for your money!

Great Phobia to have!!
45*3 1/2*30 Is the layout I went with on this ball. Ball reaads the mids very good. The motion is strong and lets you open up the lane quickly. Great bang for the buck. This ball is great for bowlers wanting to get more ball motion to up the carry. Its great for your tournament bowler that needs a ball that gives the freedom to open the lane on demanding oil patterns. Ball is very surface change friendly and takes polish pretty easy. Puttimg more surface on it will as always bring the hook spot closer to you.

Here is my take on the new Fierce Phobia by Hammer. This is the second release in the Phobia line. Box finish is 2000 Abralon. The core is the same symmetrical core used in the original Phobia and the cover is Semtex Hybrid. The Fierce Phobia, like all Hammer releases, has an industry leading 3 year warranty and comes in a blue/black and red swirl..
My specs are that I have a 405 rev rate, PAP is 5 9/16 over and 1/8 up. I have used this ball at box surface, 4000 Abralon and polished with Factory Finish Polish. The layout I used was 55 x 5 ¼ x 70 with a weight hole. (I have an original Phobia with the same layout). I have used this ball on a variety of THS and a modified USBC White.
The new Fierce Phobia is a strong symmetrical piece of equipment best suited for medium to higher volumes of oil. At box surface, the Fierce Phobia picks up the midlane aggressively and continues through the back part of the lane. The best comparison I note was when I polished the Fierce Phobia and was able to compare it to an original Phobia with the same layout. On the same shot with the same polished surface, I saw similar length. However, the new Fierce Phobia shows a stronger response off of the spot compared to the original Phobia. If you liked the original Phobia for medium to lighter volumes, you will like the Fierce Phobia for higher volumes or when you need a little more recovery than an original Phobia.
I found the Phobia core to be "driller friendly" and should suit many different styles.

Hammer Fierce Phobia
So I drilled my Fierce Phobia using a 70 x 5 1/2 x 65 layout, which put my din down and under my bridge. It is the same layout that I used on my Phobia. This ball rolls great and fixes the only issue that I had with the Phobia. Since I'm a bowler with a higher ball speed I had difficulty using the Phobia on fresh oil. It was a great ball once the lanes broke down. This ball is much stronger in the mid lanes and still gives a very strong backend reaction. This ball gives you a great first ball option out of your bag!

The perfect compliment to the original Phobia! I've been needing a ball like this in my bag and I'm so happy I finally filled the hole. This ball is clean through the fronts with a smooth transition and great energy through the pins! This ball is soooooooo good!
