The Storm Tropical bowling ball legacy continues with the Surge core making a great bowling ball for entry level and casual league bowlers. The bright fun colors and unique fragrances make these fun balls appealing to bowlers of every skill level. Each ball features the Reactor Pearl Reactive coverstock that glides through the front of the lane, reacts down-lane, and creates optimum pin carry. The Surge core has a higher differential which brings dependability and a little more hook at the backend.

Does this have a spare ball core?
In 10 and 11 lbs this would have a pancake weight block which is similar to the spare ball but in 12lbs - 16lbs this has a better weight block than a spare ball.
Hey Bowling.com Staffer, I currently have a Tropical Breeze model and saw that Storm changed the line to Tropical Storm. I know that those two ball had the same specifications, but I was wondering if you could tell me the differences between the Tropical Breeze and the Surge?
To try and give a close comparison I will compare the details on a 15lb ball. The Tropical Breeze RG was 2.57 and the RG Diff was 0.009. On the Surge the RG is 2.58 and RG Diff is 0.024. So the weight block on the Surge is going to be a little stronger hook potential. The coverstocks are going to be very very similar with the same finish out of the box so it is almost a tie when it comes to that. But the Surge is just replacing the Breeze line as the Storm entry performance ball for medium to lighter oil.
Can we select the specs we want like pin lengths, top weight?
You may enter the specs you would like below the weight selection box. Our warehouse will check the balls in stock to try and find a ball that matches your request when then order goes over for packaging. If we have a match, it will ship out. If we cannot find a match, we will call you before shipping to go over what we found.
Is this similar to the Tropical Breeze
Yes, this would be the most similar option that Storm has to the Tropical Breeze. The Surge will have a slightly stronger weight block but the other features are pretty much the same.
My son is entry level. Throws fairly straight with a slight curve. Is not a fingertip bowler. Would this ball be a good choice for him?
Yes, this is a great option for someone starting out and it has a late breaking hook for medium to lighter oil conditions. It will not be too aggressive for someone who does not want a lot of hook. This would be a good option.
Due to the time it takes to produce the Storm Tropical Surge Pearl Carbon/Chrome ball it will ship in immediately. We cannot ship this ball outside the United States.
