Balls with Same Hook Potential, Lane Conditions and Coverstock as the Ebonite Polaris Solid:

Ebonite Polaris Solid

The Ebonite Polaris Solid is a lover of oil! This ball uses the updated GSV-3 Solid cover which is finished with 1500 Siaair to dig into heavy oil conditions. The Polaris features a weight block similar to the one used in the Aero series but Ebonite has added a disc to the bottom to help produce more ball motion. This combination of core and cover creates a strong overall hook in heavy oil.

Question:

For a Stroker (14-15 mph) bowler with medium rev rate, how would you compare this ball to the 900 Global Reality for Fresh/Heavy Oil patterns?

Answer:

The Polaris Solid will read earlier on the lane than the Reality but they will have pretty similar hook potential over all so the Reality will make up for going a little longer. That does not mean the Reality reads late because it also still reads early, just not as early as the Polaris Solid. You have a pretty average speed and average (medium) rev rate so there is nothing that stand out as a better option for you so you may just go by personal preference.
