Roto Grip Hyped Hybrid

Question:

How does this ball compare with the Hustle Ink?

8/24/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Hyped is designed to be a step up above the Hustle line. It will have a stronger hook potential which helps it work better in medium oil while the Hustle line would have an advantage in lighter oil.

Question:

Ok I have the black pearl match up it has been a really good ball looking for something like it for replacement sometimes with it being a sanded pearl makes it a little snappy on the back so would this be smoother and a good replacement

8/27/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The polished finish on the Hyped Hybrid will actually go longer than the duller finish on the Match Up Pearl but if you were to adjust the finish on the Hyped Hybrid to the same finish as the Match Up then it would read a little earlier and smoother than the Match Up.

Difference in Hyped and Hybrid

10/29/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There is a Hyped Pearl and a Hyped Hybrid and the only difference is the coverstock. The pearl model has a little more length than the hybrid model.

Question:

I have a rouge cell from 2009, what compares to this ball?

12/30/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Roto Grip Rogue Cell would fit somewhere between the RST X-1 which may read just a little earlier and stronger and the Rubicon UC2 which will read later on the lane with more backend. Another ball that would be very similar from a different company would also be the Motiv Trident Horizon.

Question:

Would this ball do good on short oil patterns

1/8/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this ball would work well in shorter oil patterns and medium and some lighter oil conditions. The polished cover helps the ball get down the lane well so if it was shorter oil this can help the ball not to react too early.

Question:

I have a 2016 RotoGrip HyperCellFused and a Storm Son!Q bowled several 200 gms but sometimes with the THS the Cell can be too strong on fresh and the Storm on the 2 gm seems to die in the back. I usually stand 15/10 not afraid of the outside getting ready for tournaments again and I have a low rev rate

1/14/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Hyped Hybrid would give you a good option for medium to lighter conditions when the Cell is too strong and the Son!Q is reading to strong or too early. The Hyped is more of a mid performance ball so it has a little less hook potential that the other two and the polished finish will let you play it down and in if you wanted to play outside some.

Question:

Is this a good starter ball?

5/28/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this a great option for someone who is looking to get their first ball and also looking to get in a league. If you were going to bowl on open bowling nights then you may prefer a Hustle because bowling centers do not put out as much oil on open bowling nights but in leagues there is a little more oil so this would be a little stronger option to help for a league bowler.

Question:

Does this ball compare with the hyped pearl

6/27/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The only difference between the two is the coverstock. They have the same weight block and same finish so a pearl coverstock will read a little later than a hybrid coverstock. This will mean the hybrid will have a little smoother reaction on the backend and the pearl has a more angular reaction on the backend.

Question:

Do you have to drill it yourself?

9/13/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

You would possibly need to have the ball drilled at your local proshop after receiving the ball. We offer custom drilling on some bowling balls for an extra fee but you would have to have all the measurements from a previous ball you had drilled in order for us to do the drilling.

Question:

I bowl in dry to light oil conditions frequently and medium to heavy oil on league day. I have a Storm tropical surge and bowl 11 to 13 mph with a 12 pound fingertip ball. It doesn’t do as well in league play and lately it hasn’t been hooking as much in the dryer conditions. Would like to purchase a new ball that would be a step up from this ball and help me improve my scores but don’t want something that is too close to what I have and I don’t want something that I can’t control either. Unsure of what to get. I am looking at several balls. Storm Hyroad and Electrify, Rotogrip Hyped and C300 Messenger. Any insight or suggestions?

3/12/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There is not a ball that will work well in drier conditions and also work well in heavier league conditions unfortunately. You could look for a decent option that fits somewhere in the middle but then you are going to see that ball not have a high hook potential in heavier oil and it may have a very strong hook in drier conditions. I like the HyRoad for this but the Hyped and Electrify would be a good replacement for the Tropical Surge that is just a step up from that. You may also check to see if you can have your Tropical Surge deep cleaned at your proshop because it may have stopped working as well because it needs a good cleaning and refinish. Overtime this can happen and resurfacing and cleaning the ball well could make all the difference.
