The Hammer Gauntlet Fury bowling ball takes the pearl version of the proven Semtex CFI coverstock and pairs it with the Gauntlet asymmetric core. This ball was designed for medium to heavy oil conditions and was made to offer length through the front with ample midlane and backend angularity. Unleash the Fury!
This bowling ball is Carbon Fiber Infused! Carbon fiber is one of the toughest materials on earth. Hammer decided to add this material to the inner core of this ball for added strength and durability allowing them to offer an incredible 3 year warranty.
Hammer's strongest pearl coverstock, Semtex Pearl CFI is used on the Gauntlet Fury along with the Gauntlet core. This combination offers length through the front with plenty of midlane and backend angularity. So if you need to move deeper and still get backend reaction this ball with provide that shape.
Bowling Ball: Guantlet FuryBALL WEIGHT: 15 REV RATE: 450BALL SPEED: 17.5 DUAL ANGLE LAYOUT: 85 x 4 x 40PATTERN: Scorpion and Great Wall PATTERN TYPE: PBA and Modified HouseBALL SURFACE: box finishCOMMENTS:This is the 2nd release in Hammer's HP line Guantlet!! This is special pearl ball that can read the mids and have strong continuation down lane. This ball will blend any wet/dry with ease. I really like how clean and controlling this ball is. Can't say enough great things about Semtex pearl cover stock. This is a ball you really want in your bag!!
Here are my thoughts about the new Gauntlet Fury by Hammer. The Gauntlet Fury features the aggressive asymmetrical Gauntlet core with the record setting Semtex Pearl CFI cover- the same cover used on the Scandal Pearl. The box finish for the ball is 1000 Abralon with Factory Finish polish. The color is a pearl swirl of smoke/orange/purple. Like with all Hammers, the Gauntlet Fury comes with a 3 year warrantyI am on Hammer staff and my vitals are a 405 rev rate with a PAP of 5 9/16 over and 1/8 up. I drilled mine similar to a Hammer demo ball and have tried it on a variety of THS. I have thrown it at box surface and 2000 Abralon. I think that with the pearl cover, the new Gauntlet Fury will excel on a greater number of patterns. The original Gauntlet's strong suit was heavy volume patterns mostly due to the highly aggressive nature of the coverstock. The Gauntlet Fury still shows an aggressive read of the lane but with the weaker cover, the motion is further down the lane with better continuation which I believe puts this ball in play on a greater variety of patterns. The ball will be best suited for medium to longer oil patterns and should be in play on medium volumes or with a proper surface, heavier volumes. I also believe that with the weaker cover, more styles of play will find success with this ball. For lighter volumes and or shorter patterns, consider one of the Hammer Vibes.See your local pro shop for more information about the Gauntlet Fury by Hammer!
I drilled this ball with the pin above my bridge, with a small degree of bias kick so it can provide heavy angularity in the backend, the dual angle layout numbers consist of 50*4 1/4*45. This ball gets through the fronts very easily as a true pearl is supposed to do, but it certainly stands up as it gets to the end of the pattern. This is a strong high performance pearl ball, but it is very versatile, as you can be a down and in player throwing it, or the heavy cranker covering 20 boards on the fresh, this ball can fit well in anybody's arsenal. One major pro of this ball is how well it reads on sport patterns, even with the high polish on it. The Gauntlet Fury reacts well to surface alterations. Overall, you will not be disappointed putting this ball in your bag.
I drilled my Gauntlet Fury with a 5.5 pin above my fingers with the MB at 80 (just to the right of the thumb). I did not make any surface alterations to the cover. THIS BALL IS A MONSTER. The Gauntlet Fury is very strong in the front and middle part of the lane for a pearl cover. It gets through the front well and blends out the pattern with the strong core. I was shocked how much this ball hooked on fresh oil. Many times pearl balls are for later in the day when the pattern has broken down or the front part of the lane has friction but the Gauntlet Fury is ready to go from game 1. The cover and core can easily handle most fresh pattern with plenty of hook and hitting power. This is one of the strongest Hammer balls I have ever thrown. It's a lot of fun to see a ball hook this much and hit this good. Do yourself a favor and get yourself one for Christmas you won't be disappointed.#teamEBI
Hey yall.... Stefanie Johnson here.... This Gauntlet Fury is now one of my benchmark balls! It has not let me down yet.... As a strong Pearl Asym ball it allows me to give away the pocket some and have a strong back end reaction! Very clean through the fronts with a good back end motion - I use it mostly on medium patterns or a broke down heavier pattern. Great addition to your bag if you're looking for something trusty to have a strong down lane motion and still go through the pins!I have a video on my Facebook page (Stefanie Johnson fans).
Drilled this ball pin under my middle finger with about a 45 degree bias kick. Withthis layout it gets through the front part of the lane good ( Like a pearl should ) and corners hard as if was a symetrical ball. It contiues strong through the pins to the pin deck. Even with being a pearl the ball will take a surface chenge WELL. HIGHLY recommend this ball to be a major piece in your arsenal.
If you have the original Gauntlet (or any other HP ball with surface) this ball is a must to add. It is longer thann the Gauntlet, but jumps harder and more angular off the pattern. The back end is amazing, and it holds a lot of energy to release on the pins. It gets through the mid lane with no effort and can work on most any condition with some moves.
Likes: EVERYTHING - I like everything about this ball. It is a perfect compliment to the original Gauntlet in that Hammer was able to maintain the ball reaction in the original and put it in a pearl and not have an extremely different reaction. Everyone should own this ball as it is truly a great high performance asymmetric pearl that is definitely strong. The Semtex Pearl cover is a great compliment to the core. The ball is aggressive and consistent!
This ball impressed me sooooo much. I've never had great luck with strong pearls. Most times I struggle getting them to read when there's medium/heavy oil, or they're too strong once lanes break down. However, this ball does not do that for me. I can use this on medium/heavy oil, and I can also continue to move left as the lanes start to break down. This ball was an immediate addition to my bag and I'm so excited to use it throughout the rest of the college season and beyond. I highly recommend getting this for sure. So versatile!!!This ball gives me great mid lane reaction with a strong motion on the back end. I've been wanting to add a ball like this to my arsenal and this was definitely the perfect fit! You will not be disappointed guys, I promise!
This ball gives me a strong midlane reaction with a tremendous amount of energy downlane and through the pins. It is a nice compliment to my original Gauntlet with a little cleaner motion through the front part of the lane.
BALL LAYOUT USED: 60 x 5 3/8 x 35I loved the Carbon Fiber infused Semtex Pearl coverstock used on the Scandal Pearl, so when I heard that the same cover is with the core of the Gauntlet, very excited to hear this. This addition to the Hammer brand provides a stronger coverstock that can handle more oil, yet be strong enough down the lane to cut through the carry down if needed. The Fury cover a little stronger than advertised for a pearl ball and handles the heavier medium patterns with ease. This ball is definitely a great ball for the typical house patterns as you can keep moving left (right handed) and the ball will not quit on you. For me the Fury corners more down the lane than the new Black Widow GOLD and really shines when you need to get inside the pattern and need a ball to turn the corner in the backends for various medium to medium-heavier lane patterns. I really like what I see in this new release from Hammer and I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that are looking for something that offers a great motion to have an angular asymmetrical rolling ball in your bag. - The Fury really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball... You will be impressed! With the standard 3 year warrantee that Hammer provides for their balls, this is another added value for your money!
I drilled mine with a 35 x 5 x 35 layout which put the pin above my ring finger. For me, this ball is much cleaner in the heads than my Gauntlet, still reads the mids, and has a "rolly" back end reaction. If you are looking for a strong pearl that doesn't make sharp turn on the backend, this is your ball. You can watch this ball in action on YouTube on the Average Joe Reviews page.
