Storm DNA

Storm designed this high-performance ball from the inside out. They started designing the Storm DNA by creating the Supercoil weight block that has a very low RG shape with a higher undrilled intermediate differential. Since the mass of the weight block is located in the middle of the core it helps to read the midlane better. Storm then moved the carefully calculated and regulated chemical composition of the ball's coverstock. The EXO Reactive coverstock provides traction that will garner attention.

Pros:

Extremely forgiving and consistant

Cons:

I have confidence in every shot

Best Uses:

First and only out of the bag!

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Luv this ball

I last bowled in 2009, and the only ball I ever truely loved using was my Global900 Break. Coming back into the sport I got the DNA, put about 9 practice games in came into leagues averaging 209. The ball is just amazing. Forgiving, consistant, and a ton of power driving into the pocket. As the lanes break down, I am finding my adjustments are easier, and the ball can perform however I need it to.

3/4/2023 - By

Question:

I have an exotic gem but its not the first ball out my bag, I'm looking for a new ball at the top of my bag, would the DNA be a good option for the fresh on a house shot? Also would I be able to get left with this ball or play straighter angles?

3/14/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you were to get the DNA this will read earlier on the lanes than the Exotic Gem and the duller finish would help you move left and play more in the middle where the oil is heaviest. You would probably not be able to play the DNA down and in because it will try to read earlier but you could play your Exotic Gem that way if you needed something that plays straighter through the midlane with a sharper backend. So this could be a good option for the really heavy oil.

Question:

I currently have the Infinite PhysiX and was looking to get a couple of new balls. Was thinking of getting another Phaze 2 because it was such a good ball for me. Just curious how the DNA compares to the Infinite PhysiX ?

3/21/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The DNA has a solid reactive coverstock with a 2000 grit finish out of the box which will help it read the lanes earlier for a smoother arcing hook compared to the Infinite Physix which has a pearl coverstock finished at 4000 grit which will go longer on the lanes for more backend reaction.

Question:

Looking for a ball that reacts like my old Storm Invasion, best ball ever. Any suggestions?

8/17/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

In the current Storm line the DNA would be the closest comparison to the Invasion. The DNA may try to read slightly earlier on the lanes than the Invasion but they will have similar overall hook potential. Both have a solid reactive coverstock to give you the more controllable arcing hook down the lane and both have an asymmetric weight block.

Question:

Hi,how would the Storm DNA react compared to my storm Sync. I have been looking for a replacement for my sync as it's very old.

9/11/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Both the DNA and Sync are high performance balls designed to work in heavier oil conditions. Both have a solid reactive coverstock but the DNA has a duller finish out of the box and it is designed to read a little earlier on the lanes than the Sync. This will give the DNA slightly more overall hook potential because it reads earlier on the lanes but they are still pretty comparable.

Question:

I have a hustle pow and idol pearl will this be a step above the idol pearl or will Another ball be better suited

11/10/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will definitely be a step above the Idol Pearl as it is listed in the high performance category and can handle heavier oil better than the Idol Pearl. However, this ball reads the lanes much earlier and has a smoother arcing hook while the Idol Pearl and the Hustle POW both react later on the lane for a sharper backend hook. If you want your heavier oil ball to read earlier, this would be a good fit. If you wanted something that reacted like your other bowling balls but was just stronger, you may consider the Roto Grip Exotic Gem or the Storm Virtual Energy Blackout.

Question:

How does it compare against a Storm Summit and Summit Peak?

1/5/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The DNA will have a higher hook potential than the Summit series. The DNA is a high performance ball designed for heavy oil conditions and the solid coverstock and duller finish will help this ball read earlier on the lanes and have a smoother arcing hook. Both the Summit and especially the Summit Peak will read later on the lanes than the DNA and this also helps the Summits work more in medium to heavy oil.

Question:

Will this ball be good for someone who throws 13mph

2/1/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you are rev dominant then this may be harder to control and it may react too strong too early on the lane. However, if your revs were a little lower to match your ball speed or if you would be considered speed dominant you should still be able to use this ball in heavier oil conditions.
